well i wouldn't say they are not Risti's, maybe up n coming ones. the 366 is more affordable as compared to the 410 and 420. Risti's would snap up the 410 and 420 really soon come October, already there is a queue for these limited pieces if you see the long queue at the Shanghai World Expo you soon realize a queue in China is not your typical queue.

well..I am trying to get my hands on a 413...affordable pig
guess 1500 on 366 will sell out...the 410 and 420 are pretty sweet...but for that much scratch...I would rather wait and hope for 339

yes i fully agree. the "affordable" pig is much sought after as the numbers are less, much lesser than the 366.

as for the 339, it is THE watch on every Risti's list right now. on panerai's website the official number of 339 to be produced is listed as 1500 units. quite a number for a 2010 SE but it would still fly off the showroom doors. given that the 339 is slightly more expensive than the 292 "Pig" but comes with a composite case and 8 day power reserve movement. that's very addictive.

Was just in the IFC ad. Latest news is that there are wait lists for all the china se models, even the 366. Comment made was that the 366 is very popular with foreigners. Got to hold the 323 which a really nice rad. Highlight though was that a guy was picking up a 341 where I had to check myself to stop staring...

Hmmm, sounds a bit strange in my opinion. But then again, one has gotten pretty used to hearing the strangest of explanations here... Perhaps I'm off the radar on this one though?

Anyhow...Looking forward to Wednesday guys!

Cheers,
Joe

not that many 366 in the shops, probably less than 30 for both boutiques in Shanghai. the current range are number 100 to 200 range. probably more will be in later in the part.

Just give me a PAM127 and I'll be happy

The beauty of the Panerai is its simple perfect beautiful traditional design............I don't like that being messed with

Figures, some of these guys think they are the new collectors and this new FU watch will soar in price when the locals in the Chinese country side hears about it's existence.

OK first wrist shots and actual pics of the 366. As you may notice, the color of the markers and numbering are slightly off white, so is the thread on the black leather strap. Only a few numbers of 366 for the 1st batch.

Well I guess this is made for the asian market.

However the change to the 6 O'Clock marker is quite a strange modification. I think I would have preferred some other kind of Chinese characterization in addition to the standard markers. For instance they could have put Panerai in Chinese under English representation.

Panerai in Chinese is written as "沛纳海“. If written in small fonts below the Panerai wording it could turn out to be not so bad.

The "" character is slightly overwhelming on the dial.

Well that leaves a lot of room for 2011 Chinese editions. hahahaha.

Well I tried to buy this particular one but they would not sell it to me until after the official boutique opening. Reason being they only have 2 366 watches in the store currently and they needed the watches to be around during the official opening on Wednesday.

Well there are more 366s coming in next month, so I'm not too bothered.

Not sure if the 366 is already on sale in the Hong Kong boutique.

Hi Phil, no the 410 and 420 won't be released until at least October (that's what I was told).

Besides the 292J series, the pig on a luminor dial actually existed much earlier on the PAM 76 SE Blackseal. This came in a limited number of 300 pieces.

If I have any news of the 410/420 I'll keep everyone updated.

An update for those who are interested.

The 366, 412, 413 and 420 models will be powered by the OP calibre movement.

Nice 366 you got there Mr Lee!

Just got off the phone with the sales rep at the SH boutique, am totally smittened by the 420 with the SLC pig at 6 o'clock indices.

Placed a reservation - crossing my fingers I will secure 1. It's been a long since my last PAM.

As to the distribution and numbers, for PAM 420, the production numbers are at 150 pcs LE - spread out over the 2 boutiques in China. So I reckon a 50/50 split in numbers - making it 75 pcs / store --- well, this was what i was told.

Right on about the long queues at the Expo, 8-9 hours of Queuing time makes the typical Singaporean Qs at the kopitiams seem like a short burst. I have heard nothing but complains about the Expo Qs, especially from the SH cabbies. How about PAM 360? Well, they are now slowly being distributed and 300 LE seems like a far-fetched fantasy even though emails were flooding the OP offices that fateful night.

Back to the LEs, I have no doubt that these 3 LEs destined for the Shanghai market will be taken up really fast. Question is: How many actually know about this upcoming release? Had i not seen this thread, perhaps, I would never know.

The official launch of the PAM366 is in the next 2 days - with some ready stock for outright purchase.

As for the 420, they will come in slowly as is with the Radiomir - perhaps 5 pcs per intake in early-mid Oct.

Hahaha Mr Lee have not owned one yet as they were not ready to sell the 366 before the official boutique opening.

Yes the 420 is predicted to be a hot seller! 150 pieces does not seem to be enough. kekekeke. If your name is on the list chances are you may get it but you may not be the 1st batch of owners as already a long queue is forming.

Yeah, this is definitely the next best thing after the BBQ 360 that has been tearing up threads over at Paneristi, imho.

Oh well, let's hope those who were on the list get a chance at all. 1st batch or 2nd don't matter, as long as there is a hope of securing 1 piece. 150 pieces I predict will be sold out in the next fortnight.

All these talk about the 420 is getting me Panercited!

Thanks for sharing the information. :)

OPII? based on ETA 6497? same as the majority of the hand wound base models right?

That appears to be the patina/vintage lume that is on my 359. Also appears to be the same strap.

That is kind of exciting. I may be wrong, but I do not know of another "historic" that has that lume.

Phil, it should be the OP III calibre with the automatic movement and 42 hrs PR, not the manual movement.
