Quick Advice Pam 312 vs 233 on size and wear

I am on the fence for the 233 GMT 233 vs the 312. I had a 312 and it fit well but want the 233. Can someone tell me how the 2 compare in size and wear? For some reason it looks like the dome crystal way make it to to high on the wrist?

Any opinions. i have money burning in my pocket!

312 have thinner crystal but slightly thicker case in comparison to 233

But 233 have thicker crystal hence the 233 felt thicker (17.5ish mm)

Between this two. I’ll choose the 233. It’s one of the best panerai around.

I tried both at in the AD. The thickness may be similar when measured, but the 233 visible cross-section looks considerably slimmer due to the metal side being more svelte. When the 312 came out the 233 had the best proportions of the newer 1950 cases (the original 1950 excepted) The domed crystal is less visible in cross section.

Plus the dome is gorgeous. In photos it just looks like it distorts the dial. But in person, the distortion is animated, and just adds character.

The 233 looks and wears unlike anything else Panerai makes. Not many other 44mm Luminor 1950 cases wear the way the 233 does. This could be due to the fact that it was one of the first models to have a complete in house movement in this particular case. It may still retain some "prototype" features that make it different. It could be due to the domed crystal which most models do not possess. All I can say is that the 233 wears flatter and wider than most other Luminor 1950s at 44mm. I can't explain it any other way. The first time I saw it in person, you can tell instantly it's just a little different.

get the 233

sits lower on wrist since its manual wound and 312 is auto so case needs to make room for rotor

233 has dome sapphire. as many said, not too many 44mm have dome sapphire.

233 is a way better watch than a 312...unless you want auto

IMO get the 233. Definitely wears flatter/better. The dome crystal adds so much more warmth to the 233.

Go 233 over 312 all day every day. I felt the case on the 312 is too tall and top heavy and the 233 has all the right functions and complication for everyday use.
