Icon2 Tudor Royal Treasure

I just acquired this nice little 9ct Tudor Royal with a full set from 1965, from the family of the original owner.

The sale listing didn’t include interior pics. I would have been happy with a Shackman or a Dennison’s case, but was even more pleased to find the Rolex logo with hallmarks indicating Edinburgh/1964.

The movement is clean and seems to be running fine.

The box and tag with serial number are both in excellent condition.

The original papers were also included, in the form of a 34-page booklet with pics of Rolex facilities at Bexley and Geneva, info on how to take care of your watch, and user instructions for specific models like the Sub, DD and GMT-Master (so I assume this was standard issue for all rolex and Tudor watches in Britain at the time). There is also one service recorded on the last page.

So it’s now cleaned up and ready for a new leather strap. I’ll post a wrist shot when I find one.

Thanks for looking

Thanks guys.

Brandon, it's 32mm, so just about wearable for me. About the same as my Oyster Chester and Gammeter watches.

That's good to know, sir, thank you. I suppose I should get it serviced before running it much longer.

I found a pic of the AD - Bravingtons in Kings Cross, London - from around the 1950s/60s.

Google Maps tells me it's a Starbucks now.

Not me. Could be my dad, though. He went to art college a few streets away from there.
