I don't know, TR, I'm thinking we'll see you sporting a 203 before long.

At a GTG,when doing the table shot pics, the PAMs always take centre stage, with the rollies filling in the fringes. It just doesnt look right, any other way.
Friends, there is no contest between the two, place a Rollie next to a Panerai and it looks completely lost. After I slapped the first PAM on the wrist, the Rollies got sold ...... very quickly !! |

Show me a GTG shot where 95% of the members in attendance are wearing Subs, Daytonas, GMTs & DSSD and I have a feeling this photo would look very, very different. Seems to be common sense to me. |

I really like the Luminor Submersible a lot - but I'll tell you why I'd never spend $6500 on one. The movement, while not being crap, costs $100. Sure, the Valijoux 7750 is cool and all, but then they go and remove the chronograph function and then throw their logo on it and call it a day. Rolex, with their in-house designed and manufactured movements wins every time. Despite the case finishing and the overall "quality" of a Panerai, I still know the movement (in question) is basically the same as in, say, a $250 Invicta diver...not so with Rolex or any other company that takes the time, effort, R&D and investment in making their own movements. Luckily Panerai is making strides in this area and hopefully they will have real, in-house movements across the entire range. Then maybe I can pick up a Submersible... |

I was not a Rolex lover...I had 4 Panerai before my Rolex...Since a own one, I love the quality of the Rolex movement better than Panerai...Panerai's movement are over rated and are far from Rolex...but the Pam's cases are amazing and high quality!!!

My PAM 177 is the most accurate watch I own. I love Rolex... I also love Panerai - I am lucky to enjoy both!

I think it's nice to have both. FOR A CHANGE, in my case.
Just had my first Panerai today ( PAM 0 ) , but having worn Rolex ( of different models ) since Oct 1990, it's a totally different feel when I put it on my wrist the first time. Reluctant at first to get a Panerai, I've decided to get what I think is the most practical model to start with. can't complain, happy and satisfied here. I love my Panerai watches but I have worn my SS Daytona almost non stop for two months. I like both and I like to be able to change it up.

I have to say rolex just has been disappointing lately. My most recent watch purchase was a gv and i wore it for a few days. It just did not feel right. I am waiting for my DSSD which could be my last Rolex. The Pannies just appeal to me for some reason. I was thinking of getting an AP Arnolds All Stars but changed my mind when I saw the new PAMs. The problem is just getting them.

Welcome to Panerai.... I think you will find that you really enjoy it... Be careful with the straps!!!
I almost know that Daytona feeling. My wife stole it the very night I got it from the AD -had it adjusted for her and she wears it almost daily.... Looks great on her. I get to admire it from afar. Brainbizz, I am with you on that - even down to the GV comment....

My opinion only... Rolex doesn't say "Rebel" like Panerai....

I thought I would really like AP but they just do not do it for me. There are some older models I like T3 EOD but just cant quite pull the trigger. Panerai just have that little something extra that makes them appealing but if they are unobtainable through your AD then that presents a problem and it will be off to something else.

The owner was invited to a special dinner in Switzerland. So,he e-mailed a pic of him standing next to two men.The one I knew was Mr Mille himself and the other one I had to ask ..."So,who's the other guy ??" .... ....Turned out he is one of the very prominent current Formula One drivers !! |

Good looking watch, but I must admit I think it looks better with a dress shirt cuff nearby as opposed to on a short sleeved arm.
