No doubt, Aquanaut has the BEST lume...... Wayyyyyy better than the new Rolex Submariner.....

Lume in the aquanaut (5167) is crisp , legible and amazing. 5164 not so much.

Really? Even on a per mm portion? Meaning that I see the aquanaut has more surface area dedicated to lume, but if you take an equal lume surface area of the aquanaut and compare it to an equal area of the Nautilus, the Aquanaut still comes out ahead?

Now that I have the Aquanaut it’s time to eventually set my sites on adding a Nautilus. I think “both” is the ideal answer.

I have an Aqua but just not interested in the Nautilus. If anything, I might upgrade to the gold Aquanaut.
Don't get me wrong, the 5711 and variants look great on some people, like Ninja, but I am really digging the rubber bracelet. YMMV

The Aquanaut rubber bracelet is awesome, and so much better than the Rolex OF, by the way (IMHO). But I have tried on the 5711 and the bracelet is like buttah. Someday...

Its more of an exercise in abstractions as neither are currently available at retail to people entering the market a fresh without major bucks and VIP status.

Or an extra $5k over retail. DavidSW had both a few days ago for around $35k.

I will leave you with two quotes both from Aurel Bacs and photos:

“Just like everyone should at least once feel the pleasure of wearing a cashmere sweater, one should at least once have the pleasure of wearing a stainless steel nautilus for a day”

“As perfect as a watch can get. You are never overdressed or underdressed; an SUV of watches”

Bro you need to go see my esthetician here in LA and get better skincare products than Nivea. You can't have a six figure watch collection and not take of your skin.

Lol! I’ve been using Tiege Henley. The Nivea is for winter dry skin :/

Welp,

My ownership was pre hype, so take for what its worth.

I owned 5167 after a 5712 1a that broke then rose gold... imo (and was cheapest) and unwanted back then, 5167 just spoke to me way more

but thats me
