Unfortunately I don't have any from Enzo Bonafe because at the time I was purchasing footwear I didn't know anything about them. However they have some intriguing options. Vass does as well but for a number of reasons I choose not to purchase from them and one of the biggest being fit. But even then at some point I just had to draw the line to some degree as to which and how many I was going to get.

Frye western are narrower. Also, might try Boulet from Canada. But, Fryes are still my favorite.

K2 Pinnacle 110 boots. But it's a Boot Glove kind of day. Air temp ski patrolling this morning is -21 degrees F.

But it’s a “dry kind of cold”

Miss the crisp mornings on the slopes. Not a patroller but did GS in recreational club races.

Bumping this thread back up. Still looking for options in the $300 range.

Oak Street is having a sale and a pair of Field boots can be had for right around that.

Would love the Viberg service boots, but yea, can't justify almost $700 for boots.

Already have a pair of Wolverine 1000 Miles, Loake Kemptons, a few pairs of AE Daltons, and a pair of J Crew Kenton Pacer boots (Indy knockoffs).

Are there any other options out there that offer a field/service style boot similar to Viberg or Oak Street that I should be looking at?

Rancourt and Truman Boot Co.

Of the two I would go with Truman Boot Co if for no other reason than for that type of boot they would only be bested by Viberg in my opinion.

Oh, and White Boots. Here again another great boot.

To be honest I don't own any of these but have heard nothing but great things about them. I just have so many now I just don't need anymore.

Personally if I did buy another pair it would be Viberg and then Truman because of the aesthetic and the leather options Truman offers. This not a knock against Whites but I just gravitate towards Truman. They will cost you a bit more than $300 but not nearly as much as Viberg. UI thibnk you looking at about $400. Check Styleforum for fit advice if interested and pay particular attention to structured toe vs unstructured as this will determine the size you"ll need to purchase.

I am following this thread with interest. We will be visiting Orlando area soon.
Can someone please recommend a store to try on the Alden Indy’s mentioned here? I will have a rental and do not mind driving an hour or so to get there.

On the website it seems like the closest store is Fort Lauderdale, which is a bit out of our way.

Thank you

Thanks. I had looked at Rancourt and Whites earlier, but didn't find anything that really sung to me.

But Truman, on the other hand, quite a few that I really like.

Ended up ordering a pair of AE Higgins Mills for under $300. Was very close to pulling the trigger on the Vibergs, but cannot justify the price.

Most likely going to pick up another pair or two of Wolverine 1000 miles as well this winter and call it a day. Possibly the 1940 boot in Dublin Tan, and not sure of what color for a plain toe 1000 mile, possibly rust or cordovan (color, not shell). That will probably depend on if I keep the AEs. I know, not up to the standards of this thread, but neither is my paycheck/bank account, so these will have to do

The bottom line for me is that I know what options I have and eventually make the decision that makes me the happiest both within my budget and what appeals to me most within that range.

I have a pair of those AE Higgins Mills that I bought on sale for I believe $250.

Not the best looking or best finished boots, but I beat the hell out of them and they broke in very nicely. I don't take care of them at all and they are good for rough wear .

Yes, yes, you do.

But then again you personally have a long time to go. Me not so much.

Wouldn't be my first recommendation. Especially considering for $100 to $200 more you could get something that could be resoled and without knowing for certain I'm thinking these probably couldn't be. Besides I'm thinking that little extra and you would get you something significantly better.

Vaguely remember hearing some negatives about this company and it's product and considering the price I imagine that to be true.

For care, I usually just stick with Bick 4 or Venetian shoe cream.

What are your guys thoughts on a waterproofing spray like Collonil Carbon Pro? Specifically for CXL leather. Thanks.

While I have other (hiking boots) the 1000 miles are excellent, probably one of the best in my opinion (I have the Addison). I just wore them in Ireland and England for the past 15 days and they were great because I wanted something rugged enough to walk around all terrain in but also be nice enough to wear to dinner without looking like a hiker/mountain man. The 1000 miles were a good compromise, even with the leather soles. I wouldn't recommend wearing these on icy streets, though I have before.

I don't use anything other than Bick4.

Yeah, me too, Jesse.
Just had all the 'elastics' replaced - cost $140. all up for both pairs but they are 15 years old so not much choice really. New pair is $600. so will stall that expense off for a few more years.
