What would you do?
I have a 5167 I really enjoy w box and papers. Today my Ad called and offered me a 5711R (gold bracelet). Should I sell 5167 to acquire the 5711 ? I currently have a 5711 SS white which is my most worn watch- I really like the thinness. Interested in opinions.AD has given me til tomorrow to decide. He said if I turn it down not to worry , it will not in any way hinder getting something else I am waiting for . Thanks james in San Antonio. Thanks

Personally, I wouldn't want to own two 5711s, or two of any reference for that matter, so I'd pass and have them give you a ring when they can offer you a 5740 or something. I'd suggest selling the white 5711, but that doesn't make much sense since you wear it so much.
All that said, the 5711R is pretty incredible... Curious to see what you decide.

What exactly will the 5711R give you that the 5167R doesn’t?
Do you find the rubber strap better than the 5711’s bracelet, in certain weather? Will you not miss the lumed Arabics, as a bit of variety? And it’s not as if you’re benefiting from a change of material, since the Aquanaut is gold – so what would be the benefit of having essentially two ‘identical’ watches? |

5711/1R would match your Ferarri better.
Joking aside, I personally would not skip on an opportunity to own a 5711/1R. It's such a beautiful watch. I have a 5711a (blue), but want the 5711/1R badly. I would do it even if it means parting ways with your beloved 5167. Also, if the supposed bubble ever pops, I'd bet your 5711/1R will be worth a lot more than your 5167. Just my two cents. |

If you have the 5167R then I'd say go for the Nautilus for sure, covers some similar ground but gives you a lot more. If anything I'd then sell the white Naut for a 5164 if you want both models.

This is true... a 5711 is a good match for a Ferrari.
5167s look better behind the wheel of a 356!

I think a 5167R and 5711R would go great together. Maybe it's time to cash in on the white 5711?

I generally buy what's offered with the intention of liquidating something else to justify it and then just keep them all...
So just pick up the 11r tomorrow and figure it out later. |

Your lucky to have a great AD. Sounds like you weren’t even looking for this watch. From a watch perspective thou if your planning on having to sell this to get that you’ll probably miss the variety going to two nautilus. I’d keep all 3 if possible.
Also Nice car! Weird how many guys here aren’t car guys, I assumed watches and cars would go hand in hand.

Hey James,
Personally I am a fan of the 5167r, I like the rose gold and rubber look. I think you would miss it and regret it. Hope all is well! |

Man that’s tough. I think I keep 5167 R. 100% you keep 5711 White Dial.

Ha that’s funny. I was going to txt you to see what you thought. Appreciate your note. I do like the 67r but it’s sooo hard to turn down the 5711r and I wouldn’t want both. Thanks Dr Jason great to hear from you.

Good luck James. |

I liked the mentioning of "box and paper" trying to hunt a potential buyer on the way.
If you are a full gold kind of person, take it! better sell the 5711 SS for it rather than the 5167. |

Lots of my old friends from way back are just the opposite - they have got a dozen of nice cars each but except for one they are not into watches at all... I am always chuckling when I see yet another wrist shot taken behind the wheel... There are so much nicer places to take watch pics... |

This is a no-brainer. Buy the 11R.
If you aren't I got a shortlist of friends who would. Unlike someone else in the thread who said they wouldnt own 2 of the same model-references (SS + RG), I'd own 2 RGs of the same model. |

I would not pass on the 5711R-but then I’m biased.
Move the SS 5711 on while prices are high-IMO the R is a much more special feeling watch. |
