Haha I will. I went half and half. Will do a count later.

And I’m wearing a Rolex. Hope that’s not a party foul.

Let us know how the venue is. It's supposed to be nice new hotel. Hopefully you will get a chance to try on some of the new Basel 19 pieces as well

So, event was very nice. Venue was nice (new four seasons) and def trendier than old four seasons location. Food and drinks good, there were folks from Patek including 3 watchmakers doing some demonstrations w plastic models of how some of their movements work. Each guest got to pick out their own piece of swag to get monogrammed (I chose the wallet) and everyone got a patek hat (kidding, Njnja, there were no hats). 75% of people were dressed up and 25% less dressed up.

While a cool event and was nice to be invited, biggest disappointment was not being able to try on the watches - they were in locked glass cases. I did find one guest however who was walking around with a 5212 in his pocket- literally (not sure why it wasn’t on his wrist) and was kind enough to let me try it on (pic below). I suppose seeing them in a glass case though was one step up from seeing them on-line on the wrists of TRFers.

Thanks again to random guy who let me try on his watch.

I asked if I could choose the pillows as my swag and was told no... and they were too big to fit under my jacket.

Nice to see many of them together, think the green Aqua looks flat there, esp in comparison to the others.

Looks like it was a nice event! Too bad they didn't let you try on the demo models of the Basel 2019 watches. I think most of the watches that they bring to these events are demo watches like the ones they have available to try on at the Geneva Salon.

Did you know the watches at PP events you can try them on, typically do not work. They are strictly show inventory and cannot be made functional to operate. There is only so much security to be had in moving a large volume of watches around so that disincentive to rob is put in place. These watches may have been the read deal inside and thus were locked away under glass.

If you look at the photos posted, they are mostly set at 10 past 10. So they are most likely the demo models they usually have at the events.

Agree- didn’t like it in photos and not much better in person - an acquired taste i guess

They were real watches with “locked” but real movements which apparently by someone who knows how, can be unlocked. Talked to Patek person who organized event and was told that yes they usually let people try on the watches at these events but this was larger than there usual events and in Philly so there were security issues. I said next time bring more security ...

Was surprised too! Have never seen so many dress Pateks on human wrists in one place, not even on TRF! Some other non-PP dress watches too including Lange and even a dressy RM (gold, smaller than normal- have never seen one like that before and forgot ref#)

Lol same! I was thinking, is that what millenials call PP now?

I've had a fellow collector call it "Paddy P" to me once btw.
