Explorer 114270 bracelet question

I just got a 114270 with a shark skin/Rolex clasp (c/w papers etc.)
I also picked up a Sub bracelet 93150 ( 501B end pieces) and would like to put it on the watch if it fits, if it wont fit, I can return the bracelet. It looks like the 93150 will not fit as the 114270 only takes SEL's. My watch guy says he can get it on, but won't be able to take it off without ruining it.
I know the correct bracelet is 78790, but would have to buy one brand new, anybody know if a 93150 will work with say 558B end pieces?
Thanks to all that chime in!

558B endlinks worked on the 14270 with a 78790.

same ref. had a 78690 with SELs.

if case is same as 114270, then it should work.

If your watch will accept a 78790A (SEL) bracelet , then it should also take a 93150 with 501 endlinks..

The problem with the 501B endlinks is that they do not have the slot in the back for access to the springbars on a non-holes case. You will either need to grind slots (any jeweler could do that), or use 501T endlinks that have the slots in them..

I am pretty certain that the 114270 will only work with the SEL bracelet made for it (do not remember the ref no, but it is not the 78790). The 78790 works only with ExII and GMT II (16710) (or the 16610 Sub if one would like to).

There is an important difference between the older Explorer 14270 and the current 114270: The lug holes on the latter is closer to the case and therefore it is not possible to use the older 93150/558B or 78360/558B (non-SEL end links).

I never understood why they did change the position of the lug holes like that since it adds no value, other then the requirement of a unique bracelet. The older 14270 has the same case as any older DJ 162XX case, and therefore can share all oyster and jubilee bracelets.

Best,

A

Edit: The ref no is 78690 for the Explorer 114270.

Thanks everybody, and thanks again to acce1999 for noticing the #'s. The bracelet # I quoted was a typo and should be a 78690, so I guess I have to bite the bullet and buy a brand new one as I can't find any pre-owned ones. Oh well, there goes my good deal!

Amazing chart - is there more to it? I am looking for an appropriate oyster bracelet and end links for my mid 1980's DateJust. I have found several for sale here as well as on TZ, but not sure which one will be right for it. Any info is greatly appreciated.

The 558B endlinks have no openings for the springbars and the 114270 have no lugholes straight thru the case.
So if that should works you have to grinding a gate for the springbar release.

Just ask JJ how you should do, he knows the answer.

Good luck.
