Seiko or less expensive swiss?
Hey, I am looking for a watch to wear to work, I cannot bring myself to wear my GMT to work as I am sometimes around heavy machinary, also I would like a different look. I have a Seiko sport 150 that is nearly 20 years old it is a great watch, so I like the experience I have had with Seiko, but I also like the idea of a swiss watch
I am looking for something with a leather band and a thinner profile, Maybe Hamilton or Longines, I am looking to spend between $500-1000 maybe a little more What are your opinions on buying japanese vs swiss, Also what other brands would you recommend in that price range |

Check out a Longines Spirit, or a Hamilton Jazzmaster.

Longines Hydroconquest Automatic. It`s sort of Sub Homage, with wonderful quality and finish. I had quartz version, and I can guarantee that this watch is capable to survive HARD beating!
And, with ETA 2824-2 inside, you`ll have great automatic watch, for fair price!

Not sure if they are thin enough, but Swiss Army makes some quartz watches w/a sapphire crystal, chronograph, in the 5-700 range.
Also check out Bernard watch on-line. They often have nice Fortis or Oris, preowned, automatics, in the 5-900 range. |
