Rolex Oyster Mickey Mouse

I was surfing aimlessly on the internet and came across the above.

Is there really such a thing as a Rolex Oyster Mickey Mouse? Or is it just one of those internet memes that was made to poke fun of the huge number of knock off Rolexes on the market, ie "mickey mouse Rolex".

If its real, is it easy to find on the market? Looks like something I would add to my collection.

I don't think there was ever a Rolex produced Mickey Mouse watch. Walt Disney was photographed wearing different Rolexes but never one with a Mickey Mouse. If he didn't wear one in his own promo pics then I doubt anyone else in the company or public ever had one.

I have read that there is a book, Miller's Wristwatches: How to Compare and Value, that references a Mickey Mouse Rolex. But even then it is stated that the Mickey Mouse is only a decal sticker placed on the dial.

There are also internet stories on other forums stating that individuals were refused service of their Rolexes with Mickey Mouse dials at RSC. If RSC won't touch it then it must not be OEM.

If there ever was a Disney Rolex, I'm guessing it was something done after market, like the Domino's Pizza Rolex I see pop up every once and awhile for sale online.

"It has been suggested that all Mickey Mouse dialed Rolex watches are fakes. Well not necessarily fake Rolex watches, but rather real ones that have had aftermarket dials placed in the watch."

Cannot recollect there ever being a genuine Rolex Micky Mouse watch, but mine is a 100% genuine Mickey Mouse watch.

This reminds me of a joke below.

Micky mouse split up with Minnie. Donald Duck was chatting to him about it wondering what had gone wrong.

"Well I don't like talking about it but....." and he whispered in Donalds ear.

" That's a bit tight, Micky. Splitting up with her just because she's got bucked teeth," said Donald.

"I didn't say she'd got bucked teeth. I said she was f##k##g Goofey."

I believe that there were a few Mickey Mouse Rolex watches a few decades ago.. They would be so rare that it is unlikely to be found on the market..

I stand corrected Larry as your second picture clearly shows a Mickey Mouse Rolex.

Is that perhaps the famous MouseJust model?

Actually there's a long standing debate as to whether these MM themed Rolexes existed or not. Some have argued that the dials were aftermarket, others that there was a small run of OEM MM dialed Rolexes. What's not in debate is that there are old Rolex watches that have MM painted on the dial. Usually found on a lower model like a 6694.

A "real" Mickey Mouse Rolex is my grail watch. Unfortunately, I have come to believe that they are as authentic as unicorns. I was set to buy one from Fourtane in Carmel last month. But when I asked if it was authentic - i.e., the dial was from Rolex and not an aftermarket paint job - I was told that ALL Rolex Mickeys are aftermarket and that an authentic model doesn't exist. From everything I know, Fourtane is about as reliable a source as possible. On the other side of the argument is that Aaron Faber believes authentic Mickeys were made. Regardless, it would seem awfully tough to believe that you were buying an authentic Mickey. But if you like the look and don't mind that it's an aftermarket paint job, then go for it. I just wouldn't pay a premium for Mickey.

I found this one on eBay several months ago and posted about it. The feedback I got back said it was legit. It was listed as VINTAGE ROLEX 6548 14K SOLID GOLD WITH 1130 BUTTERFLY ROTOR MOVEMENT

It's probably an authentic Rolex. The question is if the MM dial is OEM or aftermarket (painted, sticker, ect...).

You'd think Rolex and Disney could at least make his arm actually rest on the 9 mark if it was an authentic dial.

Hi guys, my first post here, but I was intrigued by the topic. This item is coming up for auction in a very short while, what are your thoughts:
