I agree with that assessment - however, I believe the picture is of the second link of the bracelet joining onto the end link. I think the shape of it is quite aggressive - note how much metal on the inside of the link is showing. That could be of a Daytona's end link, but I think the slightly more aggressive lines of the YM II fit it better

a teaser for an SS version of the YMII? just not seeing that one, sorry. it's not big enough to warrant the "hoopla".

Realistically, any new model released by Rolex is typically solid 18K, so to the extent the teaser is a new model is is most likely the SS model of the YMII.

I wish it would be a new Daytona, but on past experience I just can't see it happening. Rolex makes a truck load of $$$ from releasing in year one the 18K, then in year two it is TT and year three it is SS....

A lot of people are saying that Basel this year is going to be "safe" - models tend to take a few years to develop, this year's offering is likely to reflect the slumped sales of 2009/2010

an SS YMII would be an interesting footnote, but, for it to be "teaser-worthy", it needs to be something that people will talk about it. an SS YMII would be a colossal "yawn" (not to put down the YMII....it's a nice piece, i'm just saying it is not headline material).

if an SS daytona is not an option because rolex still needs to roll out more solid gold and TT versions, then, i think there's a higher probability of a bi-color GMT over an SS YMII.

two days to go!

A Steel Daytona with Black Ceramic Bezel... All of the watches with this bracelet have been updated the only one left is the Daytona expect dealers phones to be ringing off the hook for people placing pre-orders.... Only question is the dial configuration!

Wow....this is a teaser....I won't make any predictions....just waiting anxiously...I just hope it's worth the wait. The SKD last year was a nice addition but again not something I would purchase right now due to the price.

As much as I would love to see a new Daytona or a SS YM II, the pessimist in me thinks that Rolex has put up stock photos to mess with our heads!

SS Anniversary Daytona with ceramic bezel sounds like a good possibility.

I think black ceramic on a TT Daytona would look horrible and make a poor choice for an anniversary edition. Just my opinion.

i've never been a huge daytona fan generally but a nice clean paul newmanesque reissue might get me on board!

Omega recently released a teaser video of what looks like a LiquidMetal Speedmaster housing the 8500.

I would not be surprised at all to see Rolex try to match that by releasing a ceramic, SS Daytona. These two brands have a fierce rivalry going on right now and it makes a lot of sense for this scenario to play out.

this ceramic stuff is very much for the masses these days , low range watches are marketed with ceramic too ,very similar like the led lights on cars , it s started with porsche and you get now on pimped civics.

when you google "omega speedmaster ceramic basel 2013", an official page from omega is one of the hits, and, from the google page, you can read "the Speedmaster in black ceramic", so, i'm thinking the case will be ceramic, but it might just be referring to the bezel.

interestingly enough, when you click on the URL, the page is no longer on omega's website.
