Rolex Sea Dweller 16600T - what does the T stand for?
Just wondering whether it is normal for a V serial 16600 to have the letter T after the model reference number on the guarantee card.
if so what does it mean? |

Every Rolex professional watch, not just the Sea Dweller, has a T on the case if it was once a lug through-hole model that was changed to a blind-hole case.
The T stands for Trou Borgne, french for blind hole - French is Rolex native language. Generally you do not see the T on paperwork.

Thank you for this - I have never physically checked this on the case but was confused as to why it was listed with a T after the model reference.
This all makes sense now. |

As Larry has pointed out the T indicates its a non lug hole case nothing more. Now watches like the 14060 sub after around 2000 it was called a 14060M. And all the M stands for is modified movement the change from the cal 3000 to the cal 3130.

So a 116520 should come with a T?

.
There's no 116520T as there have been no 116520 with lug holes, so there's no need to differentiate the models. But does anybody knows why WG and YG Daytona models 116528 and 116509 became 116528H and 116509H in 2008 ? |
