Best time of year to buy?

So I've been researching and have visited a few AD's in my area over the past couple of weekends. Seems the subc is in such high demand that they don't stay in stock for very long. When would be the best time of year to be able to negotiate for a subc?

SubC's will always be in demand no matter the time of the year.

Your best bet is to secure one here from one of the trusted sellers.

I'd have to think that supplies, and therefore potential discounts, would be more favorable right after Christmas as opposed to right before. As far as the rest of the year, I can't imaging that you wouldn't be able to find what you want, given their production output.

Right before a price increase in May.

Also February, January, December, October, September, March, April, August June and July.

Oh I forgot November.

I think the best time to buy is the lead up to Christmas. Shop staff want to hit their bonus targets for there Christmas pay packet.

I recently ( last week) got a good deal on 2 watches, I do not think I would have received such a deal had I been purchasing any other time of the year.

While I get the point you are trying to make, in these parts the staff doesn't get to decide the price a store is willing to take, that is up to the owner. Around here anyway, Rolex dealers are not particularly negotiable during the holiday season as the attitude seems to be if you don't want to pay right near full boat then someone else will. Particularly true of the Sub. It's not like in the car business where the manufacturer grants allowances and givebacks to the dealer for hitting quarterly and annual numbers. Don't think Rolex does that.

Go with any trusted sellers for a brand new in box at a discounted price. No haggling required.

Might be a little better after the holidays, but don't expect bargains on a Sub.

That would be my approach.

I wouldn't hold off a potential purchase for a high demand item like a Sub C (if going the AD route) that is in stock for a speculative notion that possible discounts may be more at a certain time of year.

End of any month of the year for discounts. Avoid December.

I would think end of the month in January or February. My thinking is in December, a lot of people are buying for gifts and ADs know they can get premium dollar. In January, obviously sales are going to be down combined with end of month quotas.

At least that is what I am telling myself as I hope to snag a SubC no date!

For sure not right before Christmas! Unless you have a great relationship with your AD. Best time when you have your cash ready to go.

Best time to buy in in your jammies in bed by sending an email off to DavidSW. Then going off to sleep dreaming of the incoming.

Regards.

If you are buying from AD, more important to choose a place rather than timing to buy in my opinion.

Find a place that willing to discount and tax free is the best combination.
