Prices in Dubai

Hello everyone,
I'm looking to buy my first Rolex in the upcoming weeks or days. I'm traveling to Dubai next week for business and I would like to know what the prices are like for GMT master II in Dubai. I'm specifically interested in the BNLR, batman model. I heard that prices are not as cheap as expected but if someone else has an experience of buying from an AD in Dubai or Dubai Airport, your advise would be greatly appreciated.

I live in Dubai the BLNR goes for 36,344 AED about 9,894.24 USD at ROLEX.
You will be given a 10% discount by default if you ask for it which should make the watch at 8,900 USD. Sometimes depending on who you talk to, you can even get up to 11 or 12% off. At least I did as I probably bought a few from them.

At the airport, if you see a BLNR, my advise is get it as the other ROLEX shops in Dubai do not have it in stock. ROLEX stores are at: Dubai Mall, Emirates Mall, Deira City Center and Jumeriah Beach Hotel.

Another thing to consider if you do not mind a softly/gently used piece is: http://dubai.dubizzle.com and search for ROLEX GMT. Good prices and comes with complete sets from sellers who are willing to meet you at a ROLEX to authenticate the piece. The majority would be willing to lower their asking price a little.

Good luck

I was at Dubai international duty free on Saturday. Definitely had the BLNR in stock there, don't remember the price though.

I live in Dubai too and might be worth to try the Rolex AD in WAFI mall as well. I was there a couple weeks ago and they had the BLRO, BLNR, D-blue and Hulk all on display.

You could end up being the WAFI's first customer this year

Wow USD 9,894 seems pretty expensive. I was planning on pulling the trigger if I can get a deal around USD 8,500. Seems like I'll have to bargain hard to get that price I want.

Hopefully I'll come back with a new watch!

The trouble is to find the watch available for sale.

The Average price in the EU is around 7.750 euro - I was lucky to find one
a couple of weeks ago..and was given a discount - paid a total of 6.800 euro ($7200)
- but not a tax free deal of another 15% - The guy did not have a tax free scheme.
So if you can find one in the EU it is possible to buy tax free if a discount is not offered
cash rather than credit is better with the smaller shops - the chains do not mind
but no discounts - just 15% or 16% off for tax free which is a good deal for this watch.

Dubai is not the #1 place to buy a Rolex and that I know from
"grey" dealers who come and buy from Europe and sell there.

The UK list price is less but if you find one there in a shops window (?) - I will be an astronaut

All in all if you contact the trusted sellers in this forum you might get one
maybe not for the $7,200 I got but definately below retail.

Right now I wish I had a couple of Mil to spare and I would have bought
some terrific bargains from the EU... where at the moment the DOLLAR rules.

I live in Dubai as well. They just had a price increase last month. Any how, the prices at the Dubai airport is still the cheapest amongst the ADs. The published price is the fixed price though. They will not budge. Find out the price from Dubai airport. The ADs in the city will match the price if you negotiate hard enough.

Last edited by topgear; 17 March 2015 at 08:16 PM.. Reason: *amended to say cheapest amongst the ADs. Grey dealers' prices are still cheaper than ADs or airport

This is correct.

Stay away from the AD's and look in the Souks where you will find all the grey imports for sale way cheaper than the Airport.

i can't stand the souks. i would buy from someone here before i bought from the souks IMHO. plus, if you don't know Dubai you will need to find them, take a taxi, walk around with all the cash in your pocket, and it can be a little overwhelming....plus the replica risk....

the AD in Dubai will give 10% off. they will take a credit card (assuming it works in UAE!). they seem to have plenty of inventory these days.

dubizzle is good but just do the deal at a mall where you can have Sediqqi & Sons authenticate it. mirdiff city centre also has a big Sediqqi showroom and is 10 minutes from the airport.

agreed though on the airport - buy if you see a batman there. i must admit i have not seen any batman's around.

I live in Abu Dhabi and here some local AD can give 12% discount. You can still buy through Dubizzle , plenty of choices at relatively good prices for brand new models and get watch authenticated at AD or Rolex Service Center but it will cost you additional 500 AED (136 USD), at least this is how much they charge at Rolex Abu Dhabi service center.

Guys the prices in Dubai are very high compared to europe. I have a been told this is due too the bargaining culture here.

Dubai expensive at the moment compared to UK prices as the dirham is tied to the dollar. That said you should be able to find most models on display and if they don't have it they can normally make a call and have it within 2 days. Tend to use Dubai as an opportunity to try on watches and then source elsewhere.

Souks are good, but like its been said, you have to know what you are buying and definitely where to go.

Dirham/pound at least its great for sending money back to the UK atm :D

Wouldn't waste my time in Dubai for anything. It's just generally expensive all round. Lange at Dubai Mall quoted me a Datograph at AED 258000 or about £51000. You can get that from Harrods at £48000!!!

Just been in Rolex at Dubai Mall. So 116655 is AED 93000 and they will give you 10% discount. Three week waiting list for 40 mm. The ceramic Daytona is AED 43000 and less 10%. Waiting list but not accepting deposits. Divide 3.67 for $ and 5.2 for £. I think it's very expensive especially co side rig import duty us only 5% and there us no VAT!! Someone getting very rich!!

Rolex at the airport is not cheap. You may not get any discount from the price tag too better try outside.
