Ever had fedex lie about attempted delivery?

After sitting home all day awaiting a package due by 3pm, I noticed at 2:15 my tracking was flagged as a "delivery exception" customer not home.

I was literally sitting by the door all day!

Called customer service and the driver claims he made an attempt but will try to make it back.

No notice on the door and it has been snowing all day so unless he floats he never approached my house.

Oh well rant over.

I had the exact same thing happen several years ago. I talked to my regular fedex guy and he told me that they sometimes have substitute drivers and if they're not familiar with an area rather than putting forth an effort they often times just mark that no one was home.

I did and they claim his system was reading a different address and he tried to make an attempt there.

Oh great someone across town just missed a free watch

Issue is I have to leave the house to get my wife as I drove her in this morning due to a snowstorm.

Of course he will come then!

Maybe Tom just have the driver bring it back to his hub, and then you can just go grab it at FedEx...sorry to hear your baby is lost

Never with a watch.

But in my office, yes, it has happened on two separate occasions.

On the second we tore the office apart. The guy that would have "received" it was beside himself as he is relatively new with a bad history. He thought everyone would think he stole it.

The next day, here comes FedEx.

If it were not for the relief around the office, the delivery guy probably would have gotten a beating.

Edit: reread the topic name. in my situation, they actually lied about the delivery.

I have had UPS do that with guitars on a few occasions. Normally Fedex in my experience has been a little more honest.

I can't believe I came across this thread! The last 2 times I needed something on a Wednesday at my office, while following the tracking online, they would say delivery attempted but business closed. The whole time I'm sitting in my office waiting. I had to contact Fed ex and have them put in their system our office is open on Wednesday. The thing that would pi$$ me off, is they actually put they tried to attempt delivery which is a straight out lie...

I have when I lived in a house. I've had them mark the delivery as attempted (which I was home) and left on porch (never to be seen again)

Yes!!!!!

I have approx 1000ft driveway (not steep or anything) and if there is even a dusting of snow I'll see them or the UPS guy think about coming up hesitate then just gas it and go then get email saying attempted delivery....

I always use the post office for watch shipping never any problems and they always come up the the house if they need a signature

I have problems with my Postal Service delivering Express packages on time, they have said they left tags but never did. I use Fedex for that reason.

The better question is, "Has FedEx ever not lied about attempting delivery?"

I went through this song and dance just last week and it's a common theme.

I get a migraine every time Amazon sends anything by FedEx.

Yes, I have caught FedEx and UPS both in lies before. UPS was the worst, one time they were running late and at 8pm I called them and they admitted the driver was running late but they said that he would still be at my house by 9pm. I waited outside, then all of a sudden I got an automated text (I'm registered with UPS and FedEx). The text said they attempted delivery but no one was home. I immediately called UPS and they said the driver came by, and should have placed a note on the door. I told them neither happened and the guy just sounded confused and told me they'd be back the next day.

Happened to me a while back when I was living in a gated community. I got a notice in the mailbox saying delivery attempted but I found it weird since they should have stuck in on the door or slipped it under the door. So I called back and they said they tried ringing the doorbell but no answer, and the package was too big to leave in the mailbox, so they left the note in the mailbox. Thing is we were home all day and never heard the doorbell ring. Checked and it was in perfect working condition. Went to the security guardhouse to review CCTV footage and there was nobody walking up to our main door nor did they attempt to leave a package in our mailbox...

I haven't had too many problems with FedEx before, but UPS & USPS have delivered packages of mine to the wrong house two blocks over at least once every three months for the past 5-7 years.

I bet he hovers!!! Or is FedEx using drones now??

If it is a time sensitive delivery (second day or overnight by 10am) I am sure they open themselves up to refunds if not delivered by the deadline. Which I am sure trickles down to a performance appraisal or job review for the driver.

I have had this happen before as well. I think that as long as they make an attempt it counts as they tried on time. And not being able to find the place is not a viable excuse.

Doesn't make it right just working the system to try to keep one step ahead of the man I am sure.

Well all is well that ends well. He showed up around 6pm hat in hand.

Now my unexpected quandary, Tudors don't use 1.6 cut out screwdrivers

Initial impressions are I love it!

Thanks Paulie!

Feels just about right to me but hard to tell until I get it sized properly. My SDc is my other favorite watch so this one is a no brainer!

Many congrats Tom, worth the wait.

I've had many packages sent to and from me from all over the world and some for just a few pounds in cost and it always amazes me how they all arrive. If you think about what we ask and how much can go wrong it really is an amazing system overall.

Yes, they've done that to me. I've met the driver before. It was very obvious she was lazy and did the bare minimum.
