** 100% confirmed Basel info & discontinued models info

- Sea-Dweller 4000 has been discontinued. A re-designed model may replace it within the next couple years.

- All 26mm models have been discontinued and are being replaced by the 28mm model. Any 26mm stock that ADs have can be sent to Rolex by the AD to have the dial changed to a different color at no charge. Rolex wants ADs to sell down their 26mm models as soon as they can.

- The elastomer strap that is currently only on the 37/40mm everose Yacht-Master will be available on at least one other Professional series model.

- 34mm Oyster Perpetual and Date will be discontinued.

- Datejust II in steel and steel and white gold are discontinued and will be replaced by the Datejust 41. The jubilee bracelet will be an option on the Datejust 41 and will have the same oyster clasp that the yellow/steel and everose/steel Datejust 41s already have.

i'm the Rolex specialist at the AD where I work and had a recent conversation with our rep. This is the first time information like that has been given pre-Basel. Not too big of surprises for the most part. I was surprised about the Sea-Dweller being discontinued.

I own an SD4k and love it. I'd be thrilled if they discontinued it.

Nothing majorly surprising here except your confidence.

So, what's the news on a SS GMTc Coke?

I try to stay as anonymous as possible even though the information I share isn't really proprietary. I wish I had more dirt to share but that's it for now. Rest assured that the information is 100% accurate.

Sorry, absolutely no offense intended, but it makes zero sense that in a competitive industry, a company would ever reveal strategic business plans or any kind of proprietary corporate information ahead of the official sanctioned release date at Basel.

If Rolex wants AD to send back old stock to be refitted with new dials to push, they're not going to wait till Basel to announce that instruction.

These updates, if true, are not product announcements, and more logistical updates to prep the AD's for the transition.

This is management 101.

For the record: I can't imagine Rolex instructing AD's to return old stock to be refitted with new dials... that's just...

word. There's nothing about Basel releases from this thread, just that my 116600 may be d/c. Glad I have one!

Interesting. If anything I'd have thought the Sea Dweller Deep Sea would have been discontinued , not the SD4000.

Never understood this logic. Why does it appeal to you that they discontinue a model that you report to love??

Do you think it will somehow increase your "investment"? If that's the reason I hope that you have a significantly more diversified portfolio.

Do you simply want to deny others the same opportunity? If that's the reason it's hardly in keeping with the overall spirit the watch aficionados that frequent these forums.

Lastly, is the watch that you love insured? If so, how would you plan on replacing it if it were ever lost or stolen? Presumably you'd accept a used watch as a substitute, because with its discontinuation that's all that would ultimately be available to you.

I personally hate to see a model discontinued, for all of the above reasons, but somehow I often read posts like yours where some seem to relish the prospect of a watch discontinued. I'm just trying to figure out why?
