I don't think so HeeBee,

I'm looking at my AD catalogue, the diamond models are 116523G and NG, none of them are slate. There is one that looks like a MOP, which looks very nice, but I don't see a slate with the diamonds offered.

Thanks After an ehausting search through the archives you guys confimed it. No slate with diamond markers.

I guess it'll have to be the white dial with the diamond markers Which I think it looks sharp as well...

On a side note....went to AD and saw the new rose gold daytona and was very very nice :) Also tried on the DSSD and found the size in diameter to be ok but the thickness...Wow was it ever thick...the ultimate tool watch. And I like big watches. (was concurrently looking at Zenith Defy Aero series but leaning heavily towards the Daytonas ) No Milgauss GVs tho as theyre in high demand.

Silly question, but that is the current lineup of Daytonas? How often do they change?

And Rolex sells every one they make, at about $50K U.S. per. Go figure.

Its all about selling a widget...marketing king.

I guess Rolex never made a tourbillon? Theyd sell those at a pretty penny...

Wouldn't appeal to the target audience.

People who want tourbillons wouldn't pay any attention to a Rolex offering - it's just not what Rolex is known for (sturdy/boring/dependable movements). Rolex already prices it's plain-movement watches at a pretty high price compared to its competition - imagine how much tourbillons would go for? Def not Rolex's market.

gotcha...and true enough.

was there a specific reason that rolex went to zenith for its movement? BTW, the el primero movements IMHO, is one of the best out there.

Those two pics are pretty current but not exact. For example, you can get the sodalitle dial with arabics as well as diamond markers. Also the Basel '09 releases aren't there -- the TT blue model or the new rose golds.

I can understand the confusion on daytona dials - I have been in ADs and seen combinations I did not know Rolex made (I swear I saw a meteorite dial with diamond markers which I did not know they made).

The picture posted in this thread is one the best overall listings I have seen and its reliable, unlike the internet.

Why Rolex, oh why, can you not have a better website that shows dial options!
