1940s Hamilton Model 22 Chronometer - WWII US Navy

Hello! Interesting piece(s) I have for sale.

I came across a set of Hamilton Model 22s; FOUR of them! I know they're not SUPER rare but are very cool and interesting pieces. From the bit of research I've done, these were made for the US Navy during WWII and were used on boats as deck watches. They were mounted in wooden boxes (gimbaled) but many of these boxes have not survived the decades that have gone by. The case is solid brass (which makes sense since these will be exposed to salty air from the seas) so have quite a heft to them; just under 2 lbs each.

I had my local watchmaker give each of them an overhaul ($200/each) and they're running great. I currently have one on my desk while I work and hearing it tick away is quite soothing, :)

They all have different aging characteristics. Some have more patina on the dial than others. Some have have more patina on the brass case than others. None have any flaws on the crystal or any major damage on the case. Movement on all 4 are super clean which is quite impressive considering these are from the 1940s.

Each of them are dated and have unique serial numbers. The serial number is stamped on the case back, main case and bezel. 3 of the 4 have matching serials on all 3 pieces while the 4th has a different serial on the bezel (case and case back match).

SHIPPING: Priority overnight insured via Parcel Pro included (CONUS) in price.

PRICE: $700/each (can offer lower price if bought as a lot)
