Jordan Spieth + Explorer

It's no secret many golfers wear Rolex (many are even sponsored). If you follow this sort of thing, Jordan Spieth was wearing his Explorer 16570 when he won the Masters. He won the Travelers Championship today (what a finish) and was wearing his Explorer...but this time on a nato! Just thought it was neat that he likes to swap out the bracelet every once in awhile, :)

TODAY:

MASTERS (2015):

Does he wear it when playing or just for the interviews and trophy presentations? I always wonder that when I see these pictures of golfers or or tennis players. I just assume Rolex is paying him a ton of money to wear it for the trophy/green jacket presentation

Doesn't wear it when playing but I seriously doubt Rolex is paying him to wear an old 5 digit ExpII on a NATO. I'm sure it's his personal watch, and an interesting choice at that. Makes me wonder if he's a bit of a watch guy. You'd figure a young guy his age making his kind of money would just walk in and buy something new. He had to have sought out that older model Explorer II unless it was given to him.

Looked great on the grey NATO in the pic I saw.

That's the 42mm 216570 he's wearing at the Masters, look at the hands and bezel.

He's also been photo'd wearing a DaytonaC. Great guy and nice win!

Never played a round in my life but I definitely know who Jordan Spieth is. Great win yesterday - wish I had been watching to see it live.

You see, that's why I don't get excited when I see a golfer (or tennis player) wearing a Rolex after a tournament. I just figure they are getting paid a lot of $$$ to do it. Doesn't seem authentic to me. I hope it is and hope he's genuinely a Rolex enthusiast, but I think it's more likely he's doing it for the sponsorship money.

Jordan Spieth + Explorer

He is a Rolex ambassador, but he may be one of us. Seen him wear 5 and 6 digit EXP II, Daytona C and the 6 digit BLRO. The fact he wears a 5 digit on a NATO would suggest he does that because he likes it. Doubt corporate Rolex would push him to wear that set up.
Great reaction to the win yesterday. Some of these guys are like robots. Nice to see some real emotion.
He is in rarified air, joining Jack and Tiger as the only players in history with 10 wins at 24 years old.
He seems like a genuinely nice young man.

You'll figure out who he is when he wins the Open Championship in a few weeks. That's a golf tournament in your backyard.

Wow, that's really cool. And I agree with a few previous points: Yes, that was an AMAZING shot to win. And, I also agree that I'm sure Rolex was not paying him to wear a 5 digit Explorer II on a NATO! LOL. Makes it even cooler!

Big Jordan fan and great win yesterday. Got close to blowing it a few times but he showed great mental toughness for a 24 year old.

He was also named #1 nicest guy on the PGA tour by golf digest. You could see him upset a few times yesterday but he held his composure and the way he quieted down the fans after he sunk his bunker shot was pure class.

I also like he was wearing an older explorer that is probably from his personal collection before he was a rolex ambassador. I'm sure rolex is still paying him tons of money. He also uses the same Scottie Cameron putter from when he was 15 as well.

He must've started losing hair since 15, too. Horrible.

Hope he continues to kill it out there along with the other tremendous talent plying their trade on the tour today. I'm liking the variety. Won't see another Tiger, again.

I thought Rolex was not distinguished enough for Golf? That is was looked down upon by the real Golf players. This is good to see.

Where on earth did you get this idea? Jack, Arnold, Tiger, Day, Spieth, and many more are Rolex ambassadors. Rolex is all over golf and has been for decades.

I don't think that's much of an idea..more like Ignorace. Watch 30 mins of any golf and you're going to see a rolex commercial as well as rolex clocks/ads on the golf course. GET A GRIP!

Love the choice by Spieth (not just because I own a 16570) Usually you see everyone wearing the newest rolex (daytonac) rarely do you see golfers wearing a watch that is 10 years old. Rickie Fowler has a nice collection as well.

This has GOT to be a troll post. Rolex has been deeply intertwined with professional golf and its marquee players ("real golf players") for decades.

This cracked me up

As others have stated. Many of the best that ever played were/are Rolex ambassadors. One of the things that pulled me to Rolex as a young man was that Jack and Arnie wore the crown.

I've seen him wear the 216570 polar.
Well done to Jordan, he may be on here in disguise.

Really like Speith, great golfer and apparently a nice guy. I also like Rolex watches and their association with golf and other sports. Nice to se him wearing his Rolex but I'm never impressed or swayed in my buying decisions by celebrity endorsements/ads. I'm sure it's pretty much all about the money. After all, he is a Rolex ambassador and probably wouldn't consider being photographed in anything but.

Jordan Spieth + Explorer II

Cool he is wearing it on a Nato strap too!

I wonder if Rolex just have it to him right after he won of if he wore that one to the course in the morning?

I just saw the picture and came right here to see if it had been noticed. I like him! I got his autograph this year at the Memorial and he was telling people he would only sign Memorial memorabilia and nothing else because they would just sell it on the internet.
