DJ41 Actual size?

Hi guys... had a busy summer and have been away from TRF for a while...
I was looking at picking up the new DJ41. I read through a few threads where people a have mentioned that it's actually 39,25 mm? Is that a fact or did I miss read the posts? I have compared it to the DD40 And to be honest looks about the same size! Just curious. Thanks

The DJ41 is in that range when I tried one it felt very similar to the OP39 which is 39.25 maybe a tad larger but definitely under 40, but with the Jubilee bracelet it feels very good and comfortable.

It felt closer to a DD40 to me than a DJII if that helps at all

The sides of the case are curved...

...so I measured perpendicular to the glass, immediately under the winder and at the corresponding point opposite...

Moving the opposite jaw up and down the case between 9 and 10 to find the shortest distance, the smallest reading I could obtain was 40.00mm.

Protective film still in place each side so deduct 0.08mm x 2 (I measured the film thickness where it is sticking out at the clasp) and my result is 39.84mm.

Thank you Sir for the providing measurements of the Wimbledon dial (or Wimbledon DJ) since it's also going to be my next acquisition Hmm... pretty close to my own calculations at 40 mm but I think the OP was requesting the dimensions of DJ41

IMO the DJ41 proportions look great and I'm not at all concerned about what a pair of calipers says.

This begs the question..........why is the name DJ41 if at best it's a 40mm watch?

Well my DJII measured 41.2mm. I think Rolex wanted continuity between the two without endangering the sale of the remaining DJIIs.

Wow...I'm amazed at the analysis of this watch's measurements.

Call me crazy...I just put on a watch and see how it looks on my wrist.

Not at all mate - I do the same lol.

A 38mm can wear like a 40 and a 40mm can wear like a 38. Bezel thickness, dial size and height of watch as well as bracelet integration to the case and lug styles can really influence how a watch actually wears.

So your strategy - wear it and see how it looks on your wrist - is the best strategy

For me it's mostly about the dial size.

for me the proportions are better than the DJII's I've had. Crown larger, indices smaller, fluting more in proportion..... size doesn't matter surely its the visual aesthetics. The Z Blue Millie was close to good proportions too..... and the 36mm gets it spot on.
