Vintage 1969 Rolex Datejust Ref. 1601 Silver Dial SS/WG

Here we have a great example of the legendary Rolex Datejust, reference 1601. The Datejust is a timeless classic that embodies versatility, style, and quality. This watch features an original silver "pie pan" stepped tritum dial combined with an SS case and white gold fluted bezel in excellent condition.

Take a look at our detailed photos and description below:

Case: 36mm stainless steel case in excellent vintage condition as pictured. The polished case sides are bright and the brushed lugs are thick and crisp with only minimal surface swirls. There are no major signs of wear on the case. Crown screws down securely. The case has been previously polished but is very crisp with thick even lugs. Serial and reference numbers are both visible. Serial is 2.12 million, dating production to approximately 1969.

Bezel: Original white gold fluted bezel with sharp, deep flutes in excellent condition as pictured.

Dial/Hands: Original "pie pan" stepped silver dial with raised black top markers and mostly intact tritium. The original hands are excellent. The date wheel is also original with open 6's and 9's.

Caseback: Original caseback in very good condition. Inside is stamped I.69 indicating first quarter 1969 production.

Crystal: Domed acrylic crystal in excellent condition. There are no deep scratches, chips, or cracks in the crystal.

Movement: Rolex caliber 1575 automatic movement with hacking. The movement is in excellent condition and keeping great time. All functions work as they should including instant change date at midnight.

Bracelet/Strap: Rolex 62510H Jubilee bracelet with an N5 clasp code and 55 end links. The bracelet shows only minor stretch and has an extremely crisp coronet on the buckle.

Box/Papers/Accessories: The original Rolex box pictured is included.

Price is $3150 shipped insured FedEx overnight CONUS via PayPal or wire (3% discount for wire). US sale preferred, international sales will pay the cost of shipping. Face to face in the Boston area also welcome. I have many references available. Please feel free to ask any questions. Thanks for looking!
