Japanese sticker on case back
Hi everyone
Can anyone tell me what this sticker means? Was it just made for the Japanese market? And if so is this a problem? It’s on a year 2000 15200 oyster Perpetual Thanks in advance. |

These stickers were the norm for Rolex imported into Japan for years. They stopped doing it 15 years ago maybe?
The sticker translated says, Japan Rolex ( Ltd ) Direct Import. |

The sticker says Rolex kabushiki kaisha (K.K., meaning stock corporation). I believe Rolex used to put hologram stickers on their watches back then. This was probably one that they put on for the Japan market. Below is a picture of my 2002 16710 GMT Master II when I bought it here in Japan. I bought it through a grey dealer though so didn't have the Japanese sticker as it was sourced from somewhere in the middle east (I think the warranty said Pakistan).
My wife's Oyster Perpetual Date also had a similar sticker on hers when I bought it at the same time. I took the sticker off of my watch shortly after I got it. It wasn't that easy to take off and took a little doing to get it completely off. So I ended up leaving it on my wife's watch. It eventually started to get a little nasty so took it off as well. I didn't buy another Rolex until a couple of years ago when I bought my SubC and Rolex had stopped putting the hologram stickers on them. I never really thought that much about it and just assumed it was some kind of sticker of authenticity. I hope this helps.

There's no reason to keep any stickers on any watch, especially Rolex.

I believe the direct translation for the sticker is, "remove me and sterilize this watch before your arm falls off!!!"
