[FSOT] Rolex - 18K ‘Ovettone’ Datejust - Ref. 6105 - double red depth rating dial
As a collector you must look for the rarest of the rarest, I'm pretty sure this one meet these criteria.
The watch was sold at Christie's for 8750 CHF in 2013. https://www.christies.com/lotfinder/...3-details.aspx Circa : 1952 Movement: Cal. A296 FULLY SERVICED Dial:The dial captivates for two reasons: first it shows the use of two different tones of red and secondly a depth designation. Both the name Datejust and the depth designation 50 m=165ft are in red. The numerals on the date disc are all red. Case: Brushed and polished round, screw down back. Polished in the past. Unfortunately the watchmaker also polished between the lugs..... Strap/Bracelet: Original oyster in fair condition for its age. Buckle/Clasp: Signed steel buckle Signed: Case, dial & movement Size: 36 mm Offered at: $11450 Many worldwide references available We are always open to trades for Rolex modern and vintages.
