Daytona getting a new clasp/buckle?

Just got back from an AD and was told that the new shipment of Daytona would be getting a new clasp/buckle? IF the Daytona would be getting a new clasp/buckle, wouldn't it be debuted during basel 2009?

The 'new' Daytona clasp has been around for a while - IMO all it did was add about $850 to the price.

I believe M & V models have the new clasp. Thanks to that change the price went from USD 9200 to 9950 or so.

Yes, the clasp is a bit different between M and V.

The new clasp looks just like the previous generation one. It's the inside that's different. I will try and post some pictures in awhile. It's the same clasp as the GMT iic with the clasp overlapping.

How many Daytona owners would prefer the old style clasp or pay US$400 more for the new GMT iic clasp on a Daytona??? I wonder which one would be more desirable or if the older one would have any historical value at all??

I prefer the old version as it looks and feels more 'Daytona' to me. I have nothing against the new version clasp though.

Thanks 1303. I would like to hear more opinions on Daytona owners with regards to the old and new version clasp.

Thanks for the pictures FOrza, I need to be assured that the V series clasp looks exactly like the older one when closed. Would you happen to have a comparison?

Wish I could help, I'm a newbie on this forum and just bought this watch last Friday so to be honest, I don't even know what the older clasp looks like.

Hopefully someone can post up a picture for us to see.

Well as of right now, I can only gather that only the inner foldings are different. If only someone could post some picture of the new and old clasp in it's closed position.

Perhaps the AD got the new Seadweller clasp mixed up with the Daytona clasp...

I think this is what you are looking for Atomant. These images are borrowed from http://www.watchwallpapers.com/16622.htm (I take no credit to these photos, just posting for information purposes on this topic) This person updated their Yachtmaster to a new clasp, I think I should do this as well to my ym.

Forza, thanks for the search. These pictures belongs to one of our forum member Jocke. He is the one that replaces the Yatchmaster clasp with one of that in the picture.

I still need pictures of 2 daytona clasp for comparison. maybe askin for blueprints would be overkill from the pictures that Forza posted, it seems like the new buckle is longer than the old one by 1 or 2 millimetres.

Geez guys...

All that stuff is over in our Reference Library on the Daytona.. Pictures, comparisons....etc..

Personally I like the older style. Hey, we even have Jockes picts on the Daytona Clasp shown above being installed on a lYachtmaster..
