Now I’m convinced the prices are just nuts!

David SW has a new OP41 for $12,975. This watch retails for $5,900. It’s a cute watch with the new colorful dial colors but this is no SS Daytona, or is it? And please no comments telling me thats the asking price, not the selling price. I can almost guarantee this watch doesn’t get sold for less then $12-12,500.

I’ve seen those prices listed from other grey sellers for several months now. They are actually selling. Other colors listed close to those prices are green, red, and yellow. It’s crazy!

You can either pay with time, or you can pay with cash. Whichever option makes the most sense to you

All OP41 colors are selling around those price levels like hot cakes. Blame it on the same old supply & demand equation. Rolex is just printing money these days.

Those ridiculous looking OP41's are all the rage on Instagram. That's why they're selling for 13k.

All prices all time high, it will crash and it will be harsh for some.
Who takes the risk can win but also lose.
Nobody makes you buy on these silly prices.

That’s the convenience price. As someone else said, pay with money or time.

Rolex is making $2400 on a $13000 sale.

Someone is making a $ but Rolex is hardly printing money.

Rolex doesn’t get one brass razoo for this inflated price stupidity. One can only hope those that are participating in this game will get caught with over-inflated stock when the crash eventually comes.

It’s the ADs that are making 2400, we have no idea what Rolex make on each watch. And of course the 2400 is based on the watches going out the front door not the back door.

Your overall point is absolutely valid though.

Is Rolex actually making more money on these inflated prices? They’re still only selling to AD’s and those prices haven’t changed, 60% or so of MSRP. And supposedly the unit counts to all AD’s are down, so how is Rolex printing money?

They sell OPs by the ten thousand. Greys sell them one at a time. The Rolex printing presses are churning money out just fine. Greys are making big mark ups on some of their inventory some of the time. Anyone would think they were stealing from you.

Exactly thats because mainly today many buy Rolex watches because they are hyped on the likes of so called social media. As today Rolex are no longer watches now little more than £$$$$££££ object things. And while there is constant advertising these facts on internet watch forums, these crazy prices will continue. Thus excluding the many true Rolex owners who cannot get there watches from ADs at retail prices because Rolex now are just £££$$$$$$ objects.

Correct I had it the wrong way round.

Wake up E.

I can’t believe the Grey price in Oz for this piece.

When I acquired my first Rolex 16800 in 1985 I new a handful of co-workers that had a (1)Rolex. I didn't know anyone that had 5-10-15-20 Rolex watches. It was also a time where many other countries had not yet developed the powerhouse economies that they have today. Rolex is making more money today with their sales model than anyone could ever have predicted, why would they change?

Yeah, I didn’t think it would be a hit, just shows what i know!! My AD did tell me they’d had a huge number of enquiries when it launched, but i dismissed it!! It’s certainly not my cup of tea so i won’t be adding to the demand!

Supply and demand. Like someone said about the new Zenith chrono and it applies here “looks like a Walmart knock off”. Clearly I am NOT in the demand group as honestly I wouldn’t buy some of those colors at 50% off.

Exactly. Remember when we use to say the msrp was a hard pill to pay for a Rolex??? It doesn’t seem that long ago.

..or is it that cash is trash, so you want to get rid of it ASAP as we all know the value / buying power greatly diminishes over time. Smart people use today's cash / currency to get things of intrinsic value.
