Day date 40 YG with platinum face
So I’m about to buy my dream watch a day date 40 yellow gold. I have no plans on ever selling it but I want to make it my own I once saw someone selling a platinum blue face from a day date 40. My question is would the platinum face fit in the yellow gold? And also what are you’re thoughts

i personally would never ruin a watch like that by making it a frankenstein. it's perfect the way rolex makes them

It's your watch.
It's your taste. And ultimately, you're the only one whose opinion matters. That said, I wouldn't.

I'd keep it factory original.

I would stick with a model correct dial. If you must change it, I would strongly suggest keeping your original dial. If you don’t, you will likely have a big problem if you ever have to sell it.

Your watch your choice. Make sure you keep the original dial that way you can swap back if selling.

I prefer OEM everything. If you want a Platinum DD then buy one.

Shocking that this is with a yellow gold DD, as almost every instance I've seen of someone putting a different face on a watch, especially one that only comes with platinum, coincidentally is in a white metal (SS or WG). So kudos for not trying to make your DD look like something it's not.
As others have said, if you like that look and can get the dial, go for it. But keep the original, in case you ever want to sell it.

Lots of thoughts but did anyone answer the other query i.e. does it fit?

At the end of the day it's your watch and you should do with it what you like. However, make sure you keep the original dial so it can be swapped back. If you don't have it I'd imagine you'll take a substantial hit if you try and sell.

If he can get his hands on the dial and hands, I see no reason why they should not fit. That said, it’s virtually certain that Rolex will not do that swap for him. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

It will fit if they’re both from DD40s. Contrary to opinion here, I say it’s your watch and do what you like with it! Especially an easily reversible change like this.
