SOLD: Freshly Serviced Vintage Grand Seiko 6146-8000 Crosshair Dial with Box

[Old Expat Beast]

One of the more sought-after vintage Grand Seiko automatics – especially in this limited-run, sportier-looking cross-hair dial version – the 6146-8000 is also one of the more faithful examples of designer Taro Tanaka’s famous Grammar of Design.



Condition

Movement is running very well, and keeping excellent time, having just been serviced by Michael Young’s Classic Watch Repair in Hong Kong, and the watch includes a service paper dated February 2021. See timegrapher pic below, taken 12 hours after a full wind.

The case and crystal are in very good condition, and the silvery-starburst dial with multi-faceted indices is in excellent shape – as are all three hands – with sharp printing and unblemished SEIKO and GS applied logos.

The original GS-signed crown operates perfectly for winding, time setting, and for adjusting the quickset date.

Also included is the correct Paulownia-wood box, minus its display insert.
