FS: 1973 Rolex Red Submariner Ref: 1680

I am not an expert on selling these watches, so please forgive me in advance.

I bought this watch in April, 2000 from a high-end watch store here in Los Angeles. Soon after, I went to Rolex in Beverly Hills to verify it’s authenticity and Rolex did that; Rolex also gave me an appraisal at that time for my insurance.

In 2007, the watch was serviced and re-appraised at the place I originally purchased the watch.

The watch has been worn sporadically during my ownership and is in excellent overall condition and keeps perfect time. There are some surface scratches on the crystal and some general wear that one would expect from a watch nearing 50 years old.

During my 20+ years of ownership, the watch has never been polished, altered or changed in any way. All the photos posted were taken at different times over the last few weeks. I am happy to take more photos or videos for any interested buyer.


The watch comes with:

• Original sales receipt

• Appraisal/documentation from Rolex

• 2007 re-appraisal and service receipt


Asking $21,500. Bank wire only. Not interested in trades.

I understand buying a watch online from a new member can be tricky. I am well known on other boards, like the Rennlist Porsche 993 board and I’m happy to meet at Rolex in Beverly Hills so the new owner, or someone representing him, can inspect the watch and buy with confidence.
