VC Overseas micro adjustment popping out

I like to wear my watches tight. Not to the point where it cuts off circulation, I can still slip a finger under the clasp. However, with this, the microadjustment on my VC overseas pops out every single day I wear it. Anyone else have this problem? Or is mine too loose?

Glad you posed this question. I’ve been considering this piece and the micro-adjust is a pro but I’ve often wondered about it’s tendency to do this…

Never had this happen personally in a couple years. Then again I don't daily my 7900v nor have wild swings in temperatures in Cali.

I believe he's just saying that the micro adjust extends on its own without him wanting it to adjust.

You might be wearing it too low on your wrist. Used to happen to me when close to the hand.

Yeah I had this happen almost daily on the 4500V. Very annoying as it’s not always easy to pop it back when still on the wrist. I sometimes had to take off the watch to be able to push it back.

Apparently a common issue from what my friends tell me.

I've had it happen while getting up from a low couch and bending my wrist all the way back. It means it needs to be out.

If it wasn't too tight it wouldn't pop out.

This occurs to me as I like to wear my watch low on my wrist and happens when i flex my wrist in either direction.

Currently I have full links minus a half link fitted, which I have considered putting back in to see if it will cease it occuring.

I have never had that happen, in over a year of wearing mine.

Seems to me that VC has to make the adjust easy to adjust, but strong enough to hold. That balance is hard to meet. VC probably erred a little bit on the side of "easy to adjust."

You never know. Watchmakers tweak designs all the time, so if it's a recurring problem, perhaps a design change is in order.

Tightest setting on top. Bend wrist and push like I'm going to get up and it opens to loosen the fit.

Exactly. If it's deploying on its own it's being worn too tight. I normally wear it with one side out and when it's 110 degrees here in the desert I pull the second side out for another 2 mm.

The loose picture still looks super tight to me just curious when you wear a watch at your normal setting can you move it on your wrist at all or is it stuck in place?

(Obviously youre wearing it in a way thats comfortable to you im not judging that just curious)

I always thought that VC microadjust was a nice design but seems like its a slight annoyance for many and maybe needs some tweaks.

You're fine to judge it

I wear all my watches almost snug above the wrist bone but I can get a pinky under them and shake them down onto my hand. The VC has never deployed on me on accident unless in position 1 which is uncomfortably tight. I'd have to add the half link back in to wear it pushed in. Wrist is 7.25".

It releases at just the right tension. Perhaps a higher tension option for these guys. I don't know. I would not touch it. I have zero complaints about it.

Pics are same one side out setting. I can get this same fit with both sides in and the half link installed.

Yes, that's correct, the top side of the microadjustment pops out without me wanting it

Really interesting to see that I'm not the only one with this problem. I'll upload a vid later today. I wear every other watch this way and it's not uncomfortable, so I don't think it's a problem with the way I wear it.

Hard to get a good video unfortunately. But imagine getting up from a chair and bending your wrist back. or even pushing a door open on a windy day. There's always something in a day where you move your wrist backwards and it pops open. I'll need to ask VC if they can make it so that it requires more tension to pop out. Not sure I'd get another overseas if this is the way it is.

Okay that looks way less tight seeing the underneath shot!

Have to admit that second photo of the underside does look like it is almost strangling your wrist though the other one looks different.

if it's popping out, you are probably wearing it too tightly then.
