So this happened… poor Tudor

It was 2am in the middle of a huge storm and freezing waters off the coast of Alaska. Our crab fishing vessel veered off course in the heavy winds. To save my crew and our boat, I cut the baskets loose and my wrist was caught in the last cage. Luckily, my BB58 saved my hand from being severed.

Kidding. We had a light morning rain and my one stair (yes, one stair) on my patio froze and I took and I took a digger. Did a number on my wrist. (I’m just glad I wasn’t wearing one of my Rolex!)

Anyone else take a digger with their watch? And did you come up with a better story too?

Ouch!

Better take care of that. Never mind the bracelet, it can be polished.

Ouch! Is it fair to say that the bracelet is what caused the wound? Had you not worn a watch, you wouldn't have hurt yourself that much?

Damn man. Looks like minimal watch damage. Link swapping is an easy fix.

Glad you didn't hit your head that hard.

Thanks ya’ll. I’ll be fine (but I’ll be sure to milk my injury for a while :)

Yes, I think the sharp and not-as-refined-as-Rolex Tudor bracelet did it. Probably nothing really would have happened if I wasn’t wearing a watch. I think the bracelet caught the edge of the stair. (I mean crab boat basket)

Ouch - glad it wasn't worse. The watch bracelet should be an easy fix but I personally think the scratches add character.

Ya know....I was just thinking....if you had some protective plastic sheets on your wrists, those scratches might have never happened. Something to think about

For sure. Watch shells for $100 could have prevent the whole ordeal.

Yeah, and serve as a constant reminder of that time the OP wasn't paying attention and fell on his patio.

The crab story? Hell yeah

The reality? Hell no

Glad you weren't hurt worse and that your sense of humor is in intact. I got a chuckle of out the crab boat bit. I feel for it reading it. A little trip to the spa and she'll be as good as new!

Oof! Get well soon

I recently fell during an evening run and broke my left elbow, I was very glad to not have been wearing my Rolex at that moment.

It was a small fracture and only needed a pressure bandage for about a week, took 5 weeks to fully recover.
Due to the way the watchmakers' bench is designed I could work quite well, it was nice to rest my arm on the bench pads, only called in sick for the first 3 days.
