Batman on jubilee vs YM 40 Steel/Platinum

Trying to decide next watch and keep coming down to these two (YM likely in dark rhodium, but either would work). To me they both are great dressy sports watches. Very interested in what others in the forum think - which do you think is better - will likely become my daily wearer

THANKS!

YM is much more dressy than the GMT. If you can even say a GMT is dressy

I have both and think each work dressed up or dressed down. Only way the BLNR dresses up is because of the jubilee. The YM was my daily for 3 years before getting the BLNR. YM still looks great with only light wear to the bezel. Both are great looking but I think the YM wins as being the best looking of the two. Especially in person. Also the YM is super comfortable to wear. Hope this helps!

I vote YM. If you were considering the LN version of the GMT I’d rethink my answer. Yes, it isn’t being made right now but lots available on the gray market.

YM Rhodium for a watch that fits dress and sports equally well

It’s all about your personal style. I wore my BLNR to a 5 star/formal restaurant on my last vacation and it looked stunning in that environment. It also worked at the pool earlier that day.

Thanks all - really tough choice....! Bezel on YM worries me a bit for a daily but I also like it when a watch shows some years... Wonder if YM will be discontinued next year given been the same more or less for a decade. Not sure that matters, but one of the differences - new GMT vs older YM. Maybe I'll just get whatever comes available first and be happy ;-)

Not sure why people say the YM40 is “dressy”. Maybe it looks more formal when compared to 5-digit Subs and GMTs that were brushed all around and their aluminium bezel inserts are under the radar. But compared to current 6-digit Subs and GMTs with ceramic inserts and PCLs or jubilees that bling and shine like the sun, I think the YM40 (whether the older platinum or the blue or rhodium) is actually less dressy! None of them, of course, is a dress watch. Come on! I wonder if this is another opinion shared online rather than being based on hands-on experience.

Dressy may be the wrong word - I would say I am looking for an all-rounder that can be worn with a Suit or shorts. Agree - neither is a true dress watch
