I don’t see pink tone you mentioned in flesh or here. It’s one of the best and nicest maxi dial that I own and it’s from Andrew shear. Lol

It's a cheap phone. Lol. I think I know what I'm seeing now from that angle. The watch was opened up and they used a cotton ear swab to pick up some of the darker parts on the indices to make the faded indices look better.. I've seen many restoration videos where they do that.

How old is the watch?

Got a better pic?

"THE FIRST PEPSI
Like all the best inventions, the strength of the watch lay in its simplicity. Rolex used its Cal. 1030 caliber as the basis for the mechanics, adding a GMT hand and another driving wheel, geared to run at half the speed of the standard hour hand, as well as a date display. It was renamed the Cal. 1036 in the process. Then, borrowing the rotating bezel concept from the previous year’s ref. 6202 Turn-O-Graph model, Rolex swapped the 60-minute gradations for an engraved 24-hour scale."

Super interesting and informative!

No idea what your budget might be, but if you’re keen on buying a 6542, best of luck, and be prepared to spend a LOT of money.

WOW! Beautiful watch! I'm a huge fan of the 1680s, and nothing is more classic than a stainless steel Rolex. I was doing some research the other day and actually came across a great article about a super rare Tropical Dial Gold 1680: https://www.bobswatches.com/rolex-bl...iner-1680.html

"As the model that has served as the blueprint for the modern dive watch, the Rolex Submariner is a timepiece that truly needs no introduction. First launched in 1953 and remaining a cornerstone offering in Rolex’s catalog ever since, the Submariner is easily one of the world’s most iconic timepieces and a model that is synonymous with the Rolex brand itself."

Very informative and interesting read!
