What is not fine is telling customers of your very expensive watches that they are purchasing a limited run. Then, to turn around three years later and make essentially a carbon copy of that watch.

Gorgeous piece. I was late to the party, but perhaps it was for the best

What this is, to me, is disingenuous. Three years later you make almost an exact copy of a limited run watch. I'd have zero problems with this if the 2017 version wasn't marked limited. This crosses a line for me, much more so than offering a steel version of a PM watch that numbered in the tens of thousands.

You still have the nice sunburst dial. Also I think you could still sell the 2017 if you want fairly painlessly. I somewhat agree though. Basically no brand can be trusted. Not grand seiko, not Rolex, not blancpain, not omega. Etc

Great job Hodinkee. Just bought my first Blancpain. Finally a perfect FF.
I feel somewhat sorry for those who bought the 2017 version as this one is clearly nicer imo, but I doubt values will plummet. |

I’m loving No Blancpain on the side. 2017 has better bezel and coinage
The 2017 guys are OGs, your watch is awesome and I doubt going below your cost anytime soon. Sunburst was great when I briefly owned it Here is the power of Hodinkee (not happy to admit it), I bought milspec and kuda at attractive discounts. This I paid msrp plus tax. |

I am with Speedmaster though. I am done with BP. Never again. Not one watch. Burn me once shame on you, burn me twice... Happy for those who got it. Guess I will just stay happy with mine and the differences that I prefer in mine. Would have been nice to not have a date, but meh.

Blancpain x HODINKEE

With prior releases in this case it was possible although expensive. Not sure if the drilled lugs on the ND present any change in lug hole placement.

Bracelets are about 2500 bucks new. X71. 20mm lug width (they also make a 23mm).

They are milking again. Lazy f....s. First the lady Bathy 38 as a special Hodinkee version. Now this. Same case, same dial.
It does look better without the date. This version or the original one, both are NOT worth the price do imo (mil-spec owner). To many flaws (bezel action, painted dial) Blancpain should just stop these limited special editions nonsense and just release a standard FF in 41 |

Hodinkee said shipping end of December.
I totally get why 2017 owners are pissed, hell I am pissed at Doxa for doing the same thing with their anniversary Subs (though in that case it took and LE and made it standard production). I bought the Hodinkee LE. To my eyes, the case is a staggering improvement without the Plaque, the dial is better without the date despite the loss of sunburst, and I'm moot on the bezel though leaning towards the Hodinkee LE. Its a shitty move from BP, regardless. |

Congrats, BP sold many timepieces with thanks to Hodinkee's marketing power. Maybe a Rolex PLN copy is next?

Fitted to a black nylon NATO-style strap, the Fifty Fathoms for HODINKEE is casual, comfortable, and certainly not lacking in toolish military charm
