WG Sub vs WG Pepsi (not meteorite)
Thinking of getting 1 of these two great pieces. Meteorite appears impossible to get, but how hard is it to obtain the 126719BLRO (blue dial) or the WG sub?

Seems like all watches are difficult to obtain!
I was lucky enough to get my ADs WG GMT Meteorite when first launched and have also got the WG Sub also (latest Blue Bezel/Black dial). Genuinely, I’m torn between both the function of the GMT suits me more but the glide lock on the Sub is super handy! It’s a tough call but between the 2 based on non meteorite, I think I would swing towards the Sub! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

These 2 models are not so hard but also not so easy to get in the United States because there are clients want them, but in Asia market, especially China, you can get it from an AD with no purchase history or even a small discount if you buy from grey dealers. I think White Gold is just not so appealing in the Asian market.

I have, and absolutely love, the WG sub. It’s subtle, but with a presence (if that makes any sense). Both are great choices, but personally I like the sub of those two.

They are all hard. I have the WG Sub 116619 and had to get it from a gray. No regrets.

Is it really not in demand in China? In Japan (to give another example in Asia), both models are difficult to purchase at an AD with no purchase history. I can’t say which is harder or how hard it is vs PM Daytona, etc., though.
Do you own other watches? I don’t have a GMT, but it’s my understanding that there’s no quickset date because there’s a jumping hour hand instead? I feel that the quickset date is more useful than a jumping hour hand (might be different for you). I also love the sub bracelet. Edit: Of course, you probably own another watch. But I meant, if the GMT is part of a rotation and won’t be worn much, adjusting the date on it may be more involved va a watch with a quick set date (assuming that it doesn’t have one; it might and I could be mistaken). I’d also add that the 40mm vs 41mm and 20mm vs 21mm bracelet differences in size might make you favour one over the other. |

I think most Asian preferred YG and RG over WG but I don't think it's that easy to get any Rolex nowadays.

Having owned the WG 41 sub I'll tell you it's a very subtle watch. And although you know you're wearing a PM no one else will. Personally for me after having the sub in SS it really made me question owning the watch in WG because of how similar they looked. A sub has always been a tool watch and I believe the best example of a sub is in SS. If you're after the GMT I would get the full rose gold GMT it has a very striking presence and you should be able to easily get that from your AD.

If those were the 2 options, I would go the 126719BLRO (Blue). Speaking of how hard it is (that’s what she said), everything is hard now a days but fortunately those 2 pieces can be had close to MSRP + tax in the secondary market.

I doubt getting the RG GMT from the AD is easy. Pls also note that secondary market prices are not reflective of how hard or easy is to get a piece from the AD.

Not impossible ....maybe impossible for a reasonable price. You could have one purchased in the next 5 minutes if you really wanted one. Out of your choices, I'd go sub without question if you are talking blue dial.

Went through same thing, and 116619LB is the one I chose. Blue dial and blue bezel combo is beautiful and more special (IMHO). It feels great on my wrist, is really versatile, and complements my collection. My favorite PM piece.
The WG GMT is obviously a great choice too. Can’t go wrong, just depends on personal taste and style. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Luckily, I also think this is true. Buy used, unworn, and have it immediately.

I love the sub and wouldn’t use the gmt com-location much. The glide lock is awesome.

Both are beautiful, but I happen to really like the blue dial WG GMT. The shade of blue with the Pepsi bezel is both subtle and vibrant, IMO. |

Since you don’t have any ad buying history your chances are indeed very slim. You’re only hope is going grey or like the other guy said go to some Asian country. Personally if I was a big baller I would just buy grey and save the hassle. But I’m not so I just deal with my local ad and wait for countless months.

If you're talking about getting it from an AD, either one would be difficult to obtain. (At least in my neck of the woods, anyway.)
If you're going the gray route, it actually seems the blue dial is harder to get than the meteorite on the GMT. I don't have any hard data, just going by what I see in the classifieds. Between the two, GMT. |
