How is life different whether you’re waiting for something or not waiting for something? Either way you’re just living your life. Get on with it.
Maybe someday somebody will call you and offer you a Rolex. Maybe they won’t. But if they don’t, you’re no worse off than you are right now. In fact, you’ll have more money if they don’t. So, there’s a bright side. |

When I was on the hunt for my Blue SkyD, I wanted to be able to wear it for my wedding, since it was supposed to be an engagement gift from my wife. As a first time purchase, my hopes were not very high, but covid restriction delayed our wedding and in the end I was able to get it in time (after 18-20 months wait time, and having declined white dial)
Now my next piece will be a Explorer II Polar, but I'm not registered yet as I don't have the funds available. Even if I get on the list later on, I won't stress out too much as I have already multiple pieces to cover all situations, and adding Rolexes to a collection is (and should be ??) really far at the bottom of one's priorities in life. Think of it like this: people you see with lots of pieces can do it because of the wealth they got, oftentimes thanks to having been focused on work / business Then again, we're all here on a Rolex forum, so I'm not really one to tell you not to think about Rolex (I think about the Polar everyday, I'm just not anxious about it) |

As I say it’s said partly in jest, I do hope if I get the call that’s it one of the pieces we earmarked as I don’t just want whatever is knocking about or can’t be shifted; so I’m also happy enough to decline.
I must also stress, a watch isn’t a status symbol or some show of wealth, I’ve had watches since I can remember and I always buy things that I like, I’m also a lover of the workings of watches and engineering in general, so I’m not getting a rolex purely to flex or wave about it’s for me and me only. |

I traded up to a discontinued GMT (slight premium) as a stopgap but it's so nice I think I'll keep it when the call comes.

Nothing is knocking about or can’t be shifted ,that’s why the cases are empty all over the world,,,, At the moment it seems apart from a few that the watchers re gone as soon as they arrive,,,, A recent few incomings from punters with no prior history,,, Patience is a virtue in our thing even more so nowadays,,, Best of luck when you do get a call,,,,, |

Absolutely, I wouldn’t do that in the interim; I know what I want and hopefully things will come good and if not the world won’t end, as others have pointed out there are people with much bigger daily worries.

I actually coped by more actively trading covered calls and the like as a way to get my mind off it. Getting into options trading really leads to a lengthy rabbit hole that took months just to get the hang of.

Why think about something that may never come?

Just go about your life and not think too hard on it.

Self-medication. Don't worry, the feeling will go away in 20 years.
