A 16800 with a touch of patina.

New to me. Rolex 16800. Aged as hell.

Outstanding Sub Date, despite its moisture damage.

Mine is a tad older, no WGS, yet.

Congrats! Man, I miss my 16800 (NO idea why I sold it!).
And while the lume is def pataniated, the dial, I gotta say, looks damaged. Is the movement Ok? I’d say moisture or even water got inside from the looks of it.

Oh yeah! It looks like it was at the bottom of the Long Island sound. But it's got a clean bill of health and runs beautifully.

Nice, Filipćo. Is that a red hour hand??

I also might not be the only one wondering what WGS is...

Most would say that it’s moisture damage, but if you like the look that is all that matters.
Just understand if you ever decide to sell the watch it will be called damage.
Interesting look, Enjoy…

Does the movement exhibit similar "patina"?

Enjoy, but where is the line between patina and damage drawn? I suppose its up to the buyer and seller to figure that out? I get the sense people are more comfortable buying watches that have been worn/used extensively or even mildly abused than actually living life in their watch and letting it age over time. Maybe that brings too much anxiety or something.

Hi Zapokee, regular original Tritium hands, not red, just some reflection.

WGS = white gold surrounds on hour plots
