The Royal Oak has always been a bit of a flashy sports watch, so I wear it as a sports watch. If you want to wear it as a dress watch, then the smaller 37mm would be better. I'd be happy to with either, but my boutique offered the 41mm, so I took that. If I wanted to wear a more modest sized watch, I have Rolex and Patek, which are sized a bit more friendlier for smaller wrists.

I think the 37 fits just fine on you. 34 might feel a bit small over time.
