Hi everyone,

Absolutely delighted to add a new Speedmaster Moonwatch Calibre 3861 to my collection last week.

Although I had been looking to add a Speedmaster to my collection for a while, it actually ended up being a rather spur of the moment decision to pull the trigger.

Visited my favourite AD last Saturday and spent some time looking at and trying on the 2 x hesalite and 2 x sapphire versions. Had a good discussion about each.

I had of course done plenty of research on the versions.

The sapphire versions were incredible on both straps, especially with the display back, but I eventually settled on the hesalite version on the nylon strap. It just felt right to me.

Anyway, it’s a beautiful watch, for sure, and the truth is that you couldn’t really go wrong with ANY of the 4 versions.

Loved having it on the wrist this week, and downloaded the Master Chronometer Test results from the Omega Website.

Congrats. I just picked up an 1861 Hesalite (incoming) new from an AD, should be here tue. I love some of the improvements on the 3861, but on bracelet I couldn’t get past the dainty taper/clasp of the new model. I’m too used to PO and the chrono/44 taper-less seamaster bracelets I guess.

Great choice on Hesalite!
