I'm pretty sure seeing something in the case, versus having one available to buy on the spot are 2 totally different situations. The 2 well known ADs in my area have easily 35-40 watches each in the "display" case to see and try on. The higher demand pieces (SS subs, GMT, etc) are not for sale - got to get on the "list". I didn;t ask about some of the others as they are not what I'm looking for - so maybe a few of these you could walk out with.

To be clear, this thread started before the exhibition models were in most stores. Back in the days of completely empty cases.

If true and the watch is/was for sale, I wonder how long it’s been there.

Saw a 2-tone Explorer for sale AND I’m pretty sure the VTNR was for sale the way the SA was talking about it but I didn’t outright ask.

This was in the greater Detroit area.

It was for sale - provided you'd met the arbitrary spend threshold

It didn’t seem that way this time. I’ve only ever bought a Tudor BB58 at this place AND my SA is gone. This guy was fairly new but he was talking about how low the interest in that watch had been after I commented on how I liked it much better in person.

Im not certain but it definitely seemed like he would have sold it to me or one from the safe that is….

PM watches definitely slow movers here but they have sold several DD’s this month
Which AD is this?

Still sounds miles away from watches in the window looking for buyers - even PM and TT.
