Not sure I agree with this, both the fluted motif and palm dials were very difficult to source from the AD, they also drive a premium over the standard DJ dials.

Fluted motif dial is amazing. I wanted to get one for awhile, but already have a DJ and an explorer.
Will be too bad if they discontinue the fluted motif. The YMII is one of the ugliest watches ever, not just Rolex catalogue, but ever period. They waited too long to discontinue that model. |

I never even heard my AD talk much about the motif dials. I’m guessing they didn’t get too many of em in.

February 2nd, 2024 = Ground Hog Day, Scooba. It was confirmed several weeks ago, but no harm in repeating it.

YM 2 and Motif dials gone

FYI, no premium for the motif dials. They are the same price as the plain dials. To further explain my idea about them, the Palm is just weird to me, and the fluted ones are overkill, on a DJ with fluted bezel and Jubilee bracelet, which, for me, is the only configuration, I would want. I don’t think I’m alone in that. The Datejust represents quintessential Rolex style, and when Rolex messes with that basic style, beyond choosing Romans versus stick markers, and puts unusual dials on it, they are risking people not liking it. I presume that is what happened here. It’s just an educated guess, though. ![]() Kat Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

Why is it still on the website if it was official as a few weeks ago?

By the way I 100% agree that the dial looks too muck on jubilee with fluted bezel, however on oyster with smooth it looks great 👍🏻 |

When they discontinued the motif dials for the DD40 back in Aug 2022 it fell off the website immediately. I’m not buying this thread. Even when models are officially discontinued (off the website) they still trickle in even up to a year after, so still in the supply chain reasoning doesn’t make much sense.

I bet it does look good on oyster, with smooth bezel. I do like the blue color, with diamonds, that MichelleP has. It’s weird that they are being discontinued, if they are popular. Kat Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

Wow, sad news to hear! The blue Fluted Motif dial was one of my personal favorites. Closest I ever got to be able to one was trying on an exhibition piece. :(

Are you referring to the nonexistent price increase for the USA that didn’t take place in Jan 2024? Doubting your creditability here. |
