New member here....
Good afternoon. I am a new member here. I am in the process of purchasing my first Rolex. I am looking at used as I can't afford the newer prices. Any recommendations for on-line shopping? I heard that Bob's watches is great but are there any others? I don't have a local shop here in Tallahassee Florida except for a local store in the mall that deals with some used but they are totally off-based on prices (they had a 1991 Sub. for 17k). Also, for my first I am looking at the Sub. and GMT. I would love a jubilee bracelet but I hear that adds to the price. Any information, recommendations, knowledge is greatly appreciated.
Cheers! Eric |

Hello sir -
May I suggest that you go to Chrono24 and spend some time researching various Rolex models and prices before buying anything from anybody…….. |

Lots of trusted sellers on the forum. Just be mindful that you should buy the seller and don’t go for the cheapest option.
I don’t know who told you Bob’s was great but I think you could possibly do better |

Welcome to the forum
Unfortunately you have it backwards, used will be more expensive than retail, on those two models |

OP, scroll to the bottom of this page for a list of trusted sellers. And if you feel like taking a drive DavidSW is only about four hours away from you in Orlando.

Welcome!!
If you can't afford a new Sub or GMT, you won't be able to afford used. Bob's is not who I would choose unless you knew the right questions to ask. Also if you do decide to use them, activate an Amex offer that I believe gives you a few hundred back. I'd text TRF sellers like Takuya and Ocwatchguy (and others) if you are ready to purchase. Good luck. |

This, because you are not that far away if you wish to 'try before you buy'. I have purchased three watches from DSW and sold them one. I live 1.5 hours from them but have never been to their store. They are spot-on folks. PS...there are other great sellers as well. As was said..."scroll to the bottom of this page for a list of trusted sellers." |

I'd check out watchrecon.com as you're shopping around. It compiles sales listings from a lot of forums. You'll find individuals and "trusted sellers" on there.
The mall dealer is almost certainly going to rake you over the coals. |

Keep in mind that ADs are requested to sell a % of their watches to new clients, to continue to grow the customer base. There are a lot of factors to this, but you may have more of a shot at a Sub (date or no date) than one might otherwise think. Another thing to consider is the first purchase experience, what would you like that to be? Buying preowned through a “trusted seller”, or new through AD? Or CPO? Personally I chose to make my first through an AD, as I wanted the peace of mind that comes with that, as well as the full AD experience. So my recommendation would be to set up an appointment at your nearest AD (Jacksonville?) and tell them what you’re looking for (and why), ask about how they think about that request, potential timing, etc. Either way, good luck in your pursuit, the first is quite special. |

Welcome! Price wise, you'll find that you won't be getting a break by going preowned.

OP - welcome to TRF. From your intro post, I suggest you spend a lot of time reading thru the various subjects on this forum - there's a lot of experience, knowledge, and important lessons to learn, and painful mistakes to avoid.

I second Bernard. Done lots of business with them. As someone else mentioned, DavidSw is a short road trip away. Have done a ton of business with him and very trustworthy. Jump in the car, take a trip, check out his store, stay the night and enjoy a nice meal.

I second what Marty said. Bob’s does not have a great reputation amongst collectors. Kat Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |
