26331 to 15202

Long time lurker and need some thoughts from the community.

I have a chance to trade in my 26331st silver dial plus a little cash for a 2015 15202st blue. 15202st price is down quite a bit from where it was and the price seems to be leveling which make sense to do it now. I have no interest in any other model other than the Royal Oak line so this will be a one and done watch from the brand. From what i found, the 15202 is elegant and sit well on the wrist but will I miss the sportiness and the weight of the 26331st offers?

My other watches in rotation are Rolex 126719 Meteorite, 126519, 124060, VC 7900V.

Thanks!

I wouldn’t do that trade, but only because I think the chrono looks more balanced. I know there’s a ton of excitement around the Jumbo but it doesn’t do enough for me personally to advocate for trading away your chrono. Let us know what you decide!

On an unrelated note I have a thread going in the “other non Rolex watches” section with a question about the VC you happen to own. If you have a sec I’d love to get your thoughts

Congrats on an awesome collection too!!

I second this. The silver 26331 is a classic and checks all the boxes in my book. RO, timeless color and design and sporty. My taste aligns quite well with your collection.

Tough choice. 26331 Panda is definitely a nice keeper. IMHO, it wins the Rolex Panda hands down.

When it comes to 41mm RO, the ROC is a better choice than the RO as the subdial fills up the space nicely. 41mm RO looks way too empty. 41mm RO is a substitute for 39mm Jumbo but the 41mm ROC stands by itself.

On the other hand, 39mm Jumbo, though without chronos, is very well designed and proportionate. But wears a bit too light compared to the ROC.Gives me a dressier feel rather than a sports model.

If you are into sportier feel, retain your 26331. Anyway these are just my 2 cents and I stand to be corrected.

I'd make the trade. The jumbo proportions are great and the size can be sporty and elegant. The 26331 is pure sportiness.

I would the do the trade, especially if the cash top up is little as you say.

I’m sure the Daytona will be able to fill the “sportiness” gap.

If you love the Jumbo, go for it, 15202st blue dial is a grail watch for most people.

26331st blue dial is a lot more desirable than the silver dial.

My vote is to make the trade, you already have a chrono in the Daytona, this feels redundant. The jumbo is the pinnacle of AP for very good reason. What size is your wrist?
