Sky-Dweller: How difficult (generally) are allocation for Black or White?
Really interested in a SkyD on jubilee. I understand green or blue are long waits, and really like the black and white (please share pics).
How difficult is it to be allocated a white or black dial? For reference, I have history of a DJ and submariner at my AD. Thanks in advance

I have to say answering these questions are quite difficult as it really is based on where your AD is located (big city with lots of high $ clients) vs small city jeweler with local buyers. I will say as the price of the watch increases, the less you’ll be competing with. Sorry can’t be much help

White dial is selling at or almost below retail (depending on tax). Shouldn’t be an extraordinary wait.

From what I’ve heard, ADs are getting plenty of precious metal models, but not many steel ones.
You’d think the grey price would translate to more AD availability, but seems not. Colour wise you’ll definitely get a white or black steel easier than a blue or green, but two tone and PM much easier. |

I have a stainless steel Oyster black dial Sky-Dweller that I bought 5 years ago. I love the watch and the black dial goes with everything I wear.
I liked it so much I just bought an all gold Sky-Dweller with the “intense white” dial on Oyster. The stainless steel watches are harder to find, but shouldn’t be a terrible wait through the AD. Similarly the current aftermarket pricing is pretty close to MSRP if you find feel like being patient. Specific market variations are going to impact availability, so shop around. Good luck. You can’t go wrong with a Sky-Dweller! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Best way to find out is to ask your AD straight up. Good luck!

Interesting! Was the black and white full SS?

Yes. SS versions and have been offered in both oyster and jubilee. Only white and black inSS though. Never blue or green. But I also had never expressed interest to my AD in any SkyDs. And an AD I have never purchased from but had my contact info called me out of the blue for a PM SkyD on OF (champagne dial I think) about a year ago. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

There is a black stainless on jubilee on a popular Facebook selling page for $19,350 right now, which isn't a huge markeup over MSRP + tax. You could probably negotiate it a little.

Ah yes on Moda? Thank you. I’m hoping I can get this at a AD with not too much wait. I know aftermarket markup is a good proxy for availability, but I’ve heard that they just don’t make as many sky dwellers

Yeah. At some point, you’ll be able to get one for less than msrp plus tax second hand. But it is nice to get one from an AD. I actually recently turned down the green because I have the blue and cannot justify owning both (and like the blue a smidge better). I would take that as a sign of the market softening… Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

It varies. SS Sky Dwellers of all dial colours are difficult at my AD. They don't get many. But if you don't ask you don't get, so try banging on some doors and see what happens. Good luck with it.

Also you say no new sky dwellers are selling below retail? Two tone certainly are, as are precious metal/oysterflex. You must be looking in the wrong places. Look at watch groups, chrono24 less fees, eBay sold listings etc |

If you’ve got a spend history then hopefully your AD can give you a straight answer

Got mine (white dial) last December after a 2 year+ wait. Not a big spender at my AD but a long time customer nonetheless. Love it and wanted white specifically.
As requested :

The white face is so beautiful, somehow I am regretting that I ordered the blue one instead in June 2021 and am still waiting for the call from my AD (

Retail is $15650 plus tax. With this figure including tax ($16825 or so), some google searching finds me white dials in steel marginally under retail. You just have to know where to look. |

Most SkyD buyers: “should I go with white or black, or hold out for blue?”
1William: “hold my beer”
