My 1985 DJ Pics

Finally had a chance to get some close-ups.

Maybe a stupid question but does anybody think it's worth buying a spare 16013 case to have on hand? It seems like when this is serviced again in about 5 years the case may not be able to take another good polishing.

I may be too anal retentive though. I already bought a spare fluted bezel.

This was a nice birthday present from my wife and kids.

Nice pics! The CLASSIC Rolex!
And I don't think it would be a dumb idea to buy a spare case. Worse comes to worse, you can always sell it. Or wait 5 years and buy a new case. They aint going anywhere

I would suggest to stop polishing with a brush this classic.! You ruin the case lines. The case can stand many stratches and dents, and a watch that is taken some care ( I mean you do not hit it with a hammer on daily basis) does not wear that much. You could use some polishing with a cream and a piece of soft cloth instead.

That is THE Rolex to many people, and THE Datejust without question.

Beautiful and timeless piece. Very elegant and understated at the same time. Your great grandchildren can wear it and it will still look good on them.

Yep, that's the classic, THE Rolex. You just got to love it. Enjoy yours, I've been enjoying mine for 23 years (the dial is new this year).

A new case seems like a new watch; the case IS the watch, in my opinion.

Why not just get a new watch altogether and keep the '85 DJ for memories?

Very nice quintessential Rolex - TT DJ!

I wouldn't buy a new case until the RSC tells me they can't polish it anymore.

What year is this watch Denver Dick? In great shape. This is what the average person thinks of when they hear "Rolex".

I would not buy either bezel or case. These things last 50 yrs +. I have a TT TOG from the 50's, as well as, a DJ from the 80's. I think the case will be the last thing to go.

It's a Rolex-- it will take daily, rough wear and last for a lifetime. Save your money consider buying another, instead.
