Zenith question: which El Primero?
Which Zenith El primero should I go for?
The modern twist with open face chronomaster 1969 ImageUploadedByTapatalk1390170164.975469.jpg Or the classic look striking 10th with that cool complication ImageUploadedByTapatalk1390170282.869905.jpg Would you ever use the striking 10th novelty though? Would you grow tired of the open face when the fascination wares off? Will the striking 10th be a true collectors piece in years to come? Input appreciated :) |

I' a sucker for skeletons/open face watches and the El Primero is no different. If I have five minutes to kill looking at the escapement in action is always entertaining. When you think about whats going on in there its truly amazing. With that being said I would get an actual skeleton if that's what I was after or the tradition striking 10th.
Fast forward to 2044 (30 years)... The traditional striking 10th will probably be worth more but at that point there will be no need for a wrist watch because your cranial computer will display the time on your ocular implant. |

the first one for sure.
The modern one is very unique, it has the movement at 10. this is the art of watch making. the second one is so plain, its just similar to tag heuer carrera design. |

I think the open window looks a bit gimicky, so definitely the 1/10th. You can also get the tri-colour dial in the regular format too (non striking 10th)

The Striking 10th would be my choice - just watching that chronograph hand circling the dial is mesmerizing.

As much as I like skeleton watches I'd have to go with the classic one myself.

For me, open face is a no go-er.
The Striking 10th is a great watch, and can be bought at a great price. |

Striking 10th for me. Not a big fan of skeletons. Striking 10th is a great watch!
