5205 R Black or White dial

Just picked up a 5205 R Black. Still in the box unopened. Love the model, found a great deal, just not sure the black dial is the way to go. I think the black face is more formal. I am thinking about the desirability going forward.

Is the black just a trend and is the white the way to go for desirability and potential "having the right piece"

Thoughts?

Black is hot in that watch! Not that the white isn't as it is super nice as well. Show us a picture of it!

I prefer the white. Goes better with browns, and you can switch strap colors freely.

Black dial watches are more versatile IMHO - I'd go with black.

For the 5205R version I prefer the black dial. For the 5205G version I prefer the grey/lighter color dial.

The 5205R with black dial provides a great contrast with the RG on the dial.

White dial, gold case and brown strap is very classical but on this the black is just sexy and sizzles, depends which way you play.

Black POPS. Didn't take more than a glance. Besides, what color is the sky when you see the moon? I rest my case.

The gold 12 o'clock marker bugs me. The black dial g doesn't show it as much, nor does the white faced r.

Black is younger I feel, more sporty and sexy. White is more elegant, timeless and maybe a little "older" feeling..though the 5205R is a great watch for any demographic/age.

I'd go black though....

Congrats!

Most of my watches are black , slate and blueblack for my PP so I'd vote white

It just seems fresh , I'm looking into a white dial PP also just haven't decided which model :p

black.. its more versatile and you would be able to match it easily onto any outfit compared to white.

I've noticed the trend of older men preferring white over black..

The black seems to really pop! I do not think there are any wrong choices here. Good luck!

My comments on the 5205R after owning one since May...it's a lovely watch in proper lighting. However, the watch doesn't look good at all in direct sunlight. The sun somehow drowns out the whole appearance of the dial. Also wish the moonphase disc was more blue like the images, but it looks black most of the time.

I'd suggest swapping out the strap also. I have a whole different opinion of the watch after getting rid of the ugly shiny aligator strap it came with and swapping for a matte black strap with deployment clasp. Amazing what a simple change can do.
