I can really relate to your original post about your GMT2C and agree with your observations-I’m incredibly happy with mine(about 3 weeks old)and the love just keeps on growing. I rarely take mine off, except to shower, etc.-it hurts to part with it even for a few minutes. It feels so comfortable on my wrist, so natural, so right. Need I say more?(definitely!).

BTW-great photos!

Best place to buy GMT2c

Hi all. Just joined the site while doing some research on the GMT2c.

I'm pretty much sold on the watch having had a good look at it in a couple of stores. All it really comes down to now is finding the best price. I've already found it to be a lot cheaper in the USA than in my home country of New Zealand. Can anyone recommend anywhere else where it may be available at a better price?

I'm an international pilot so have the ability to look in a few different countries. Obviously this is a big investment, and probably the only watch of this standard that I will buy, so I want to get this purchase right!

Any purchasing tips would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

This is my first post to Rolexforums. I have been reading for months, but I thought I'd better start posting, seen as I have just purchased my first roller.

I went the whole hog and got the GMT. I am so glad I did.

Here are my thoughts and observations after a few days of owning this watch:

Incredibly comfortable to wear. I also have a Brietling Colt GMT, and an Omega Seamaster, and this one is way more comfortable for me.

It was a tad loose when I got it. The AD took out a link, but after wearing it for a few hours, I realised it wasn't quite tight enough (I like to wear them quite snug and not have them slop around). It's slightly more difficult to shift the bracelet pin that other watches, due to the holes (or rather dents) being inside the clasp. I used the end of a pointed kitchen knife which had been blunted a bit from so much use. I pushed both sides of the pin in until it released, and kept my thumb on the bracelet, pushing it along until it clicked into the next set of holes. After that is was beautiful. Now I don't like to take it off, it feels strange without it on!

The accuracy is amazing. My Breitling gains about 2-3 seconds per day. My Seamaster is worse. After the few days I have had this watch, (and setting it via an atomic clock the first day I got it), it is out less than a second. I realise that in a month or so it might be more, but it's still quite amazing.

I use it for keeping time in Sydney, here in London, and the US. Adjusting the time without stopping the watch is brilliant, takes only 10 seconds to do on a flight.

Oh man, does it GLOW. It lasts for several hours with the lights off.

The clasp is superb. You can really feel the quality the way it snaps and clicks. Big and chunky, not flimsy and thin.

Bad points:

Well, I haven't found any yet!

Here are a couple of photos I snapped off. As you can see I have the bezel set to Sydney AU time, GMT + 10.

great Photos, congrats on choosing the best modern rolex (imho)
such a great watch
