Sorry but here's ANOTHER Kermit thread

I got my sub date about a year and a half ago right when the LV was in full swing and seemed nearly IMPOSSIBLE to land one. I really wnated the LV but it was so tough to come across. These days it seems as though some AD's have them sitting in their display cases and some are actually getting deals on them.

So what's the word, are they redidly available? And what am I looking at price wise? I thought I could hold out for an SS Daytona (which i'll still get) but now I'm starting to think green and get that serious kermit itch

Dont know about your area, but here in the province of Ontario a wait of over a month is rare and discounts can be had, not as nice as the discounts given to other models but it can be had.

Here's something to muse over, Spencer.

Get your SS Daytona, then flip it for a profit while it's still BNIB....and when you pick up your LV, you will have paid much less than you would now!!

Just a thought. Good luck, pal.

I asked my AD about one. He told me that he doesn't get many of them. The ones he does get are saved for his best customers. At that point I didn't even bother to discuss price. Bear in mind, my AD is the only game in town outside of the casinos. I've heard of people in other areas getting good deals on them with little or no waiting lists Good luck

The LV seems to be the "moodiest" Rolex model if ever I've seen one. Some dealers can't have enough of them and some dealers have 2 or 3 just sitting around begging to be picked up!!

It seems to be that way with 16610's, too. I've heard of some AD's having limited availability, yet the one here almost always has several in stock. They may not always be in the case, but if you ask, he'll have one

Would you believe Mansor's actually had FIVE 16610s the day I went to pick up mine. One in the display cabinet and four in the safe. He let me have the pick of the entire lot, then put 3 back in the safe and one in the cabinet.

Couldn't you have picked one that wasn't broken and had a date that changed when it is supposed to.

How the hell was I supposed to do that, tosser? It was like 2 in the afternoon, althought I wouldn't have minded sitting there with all that cleavage until midnight to find out!!

Uh,............wind the hands ahead to about 11:58 or so, and see, in your case, just how late the date changes,. In the grand order of thing the purchase of a watch has to come before big-uns

Very good point, I was thinking the same thing. Get the Daytona, flip it for a profit, buy an LV and still have a little cash on the side.

But JJ ask yourself this, if you actually got a Daytona at list could you possibly bring yourself to sell it

I am on lists at like 2 or 3 other places, but who knows how long those lists will be.

I understand how the LV's may not be as "rare" as we once anticipated, but I still LOVE the green and think it's just so much more unique. There's a reason every other person who owns a Rolex owns a Sub or an SD, they are GORGEOUS classic watches. There's just something special and unique about the LV that draws me to it.

does anyone think the LV will be offered with a traditional black bezel in the future? I like the idea of lager more luminous markers and a thicker minute hand but really love the standard black on black look

If I got an SS Daytona at list and could flip it for a profit, I would do so in a heartbeat and buy the one that's calling out to me. You obviously have the "hots" for the green LV. So what the hell are you waiting for? Go for it, pal!!

Good luck - JJ

I may be alone in this feeling, but I personally don't like the Daytona Aside from it being so rare and hard to get, it really does nothing for me.I would flip it for an LV too.

Truthfully, I do like the look of the Daytona more than the LV.

How about this, get the LV sometime over the next few months, keep my name on the list for the Daytona, and get the Daytona at retail in the future

Have my cake and eat it too. unfortunatley those two things likely won't be happening for quit some time

Not that I'm paying taxes, buying my gf an engagement ring this week (seriously I am), and wanting to buy an over priced house in CA this summer...WELL I'D DO IT

But those are all realities, so to drop the additional 5K on the LV may not be the best idea

Stick with the original plan, Spencer. FLIP the SS Daytona, make some money and then get the LV. You know you love it and it's a much more practical watch than the Daytona.

Cheers - JJ
