Have you ever bought two of the same models?

Have you ever bought two of the same model watches just so you could have different bracelets/ straps?

I love my Rolex on their bracelet. However, I recently picked up a used Omega Speedmaster and like it on both the bracelet and different leather straps. I'm thinking of maybe getting another one just so I can keep them with different looks. I don't mind changing out the straps but trying to avoid any unnecessary scratches and the time involved.

Anyone do this? Waste of money? Pure craziness?

I could see it with the Speedmaster. Many different options so I would consider it but would change the style with a dial or bezel color.

I have two 16710s. One BLRO and one NRRO, one Oyster and one Jubilee. Maybe it was a waste of money and crazy, but now I have two 16710s. And it is very convenient...

I guess I'm not the only one thinking this way.

I would have two of the same model, but not for that reason. Different dial or different metal would be the two most obvious reasons. Right now I'm obsessing over an LV to go with my SubLN.

If I simply wanted different strap/bracelet options I would simply buy those and a bracelet tool. Need the tool anyway to soak the bracelets in the Jacuzzi from time to time.

Well, I most certainly have.

I like the watch so much, I don't want any differences in the dial. Just the flexibility to switch the strap in a moment. So I did this:

Yes - two 1961 Tudor PCGs at the same time - though I was upgrading ;)

Vintage is certainly different

I've had multiple vintage at various points (still do with the Triple 6 Sea Dwellers). Had the feet first red Sub for awhile with the meters first red Sub. Also had two of the freccione Explorer II until I sold one of them. I think I'm over this sickness.......hopefully.

Have considered doing this with 14060M two-liners and 114270s so can have bracelet and Nato/Leather options without futzing around with spring bars every time my mood changes. It's been a tempting thought, but haven't bitten the bullet yet. And hopefully won't. I need to work harder on resisting some of my 'Good Ideas'!

I've bought and sold two GMT II Cs. Two Black Dial Explorer IIs.

I currently have two 16610LVs. One I wear and one that is NOS.

I've owned 6 Tudor Black Bays in various color configurations. I've been contemplating adding a Hulk with my no-date Sub.
